What To Expect
After pickup at your Philipsburg hotel via comfortable shuttle, head out to see both the French and Dutch sides of the island on this St Maarten sightseeing tour.
Learn about how both the Dutch and French settled the island in the 17th century, then joined forces against the Spanish conquistadors to protect their home and divided it equally between themselves. The French side is St-Martin and the Dutch side is St Maarten.
Stop at Grand Case Beach, a gorgeous stretch of white sand on St Martin's coastline. Stroll along the beach, bask in the sun, or wade and swim in the calm tropical water before a visit to the town of Grand Case. In town, try some of the guavaberry rum punch or purchase a lunch of Johnny Cakes or chicken legs, local specialties.
Travel to Marigot, a charming village with European ambiance. Stroll the streets lined with original colonial buildings and make a few duty-free purchases at the shops or the open bazaar.
Maho Beach is your last stop on the tour. Well-known for its proximity to Princess Juliana International Airport, this beach is an excellent place to watch jumbo jets taking off and landing.
Drive through beautiful Simpson Bay on the way back to your hotel in Philipsburg for drop-off after your international 4.5-hour sightseeing tour.

We had a fabulous day with Humphrey, our guide. He was charming, knowledgeable and easy to be with all day. Unfortunately we were the only people on the tour - unfortunate for Humphrey and his ability to earn tips - but fabulous for us as we had his full attention on the “private tour.” I highly recommend this trip as an intro to the island, seeing every major bay, swimming at 2, and time for lunch in Marigot. Only downer was the tour was on a Sunday and most small shops in Marigot were closed.

So much promise - perhaps we expected too much. For our particular group the audio was not so good, driver's accent was difficult for us to understand. We felt the driver was not "in love" with the island himself. We did see the island, but didn't understand much of the explanations.

Our tour guide was amazing! Humphrey was very knowledgeable and made the trip very interesting. Washable to see all the sites on both sides of the island.

This is a driving tour of St. Martin/Marteen by a wonderful older gentleman of Dutch extraction, Humphrey, who obviously knows and loves the island well, good and bad. He has a sly sense of humor, brings along a cooler of liquid refreshment as can be needed on this tour, and a supply dried corn to feed the wild roosters along the way. There is some difficulty for those who aren't 100% mobile, but nothing that can't be overcome. This was the best of the island tours we took on this cruise.
Note: the instructions from Viator about how to find the tour when getting off a ship are not adequate. Nearly everyone had trouble finding it. You need to walk off the pier and keep going through the port complex until you think you're there, then go further into a cindered parking lot with a shade tent, a very long walk past two other tour meeting sections of the port. They give the gps coordinates for the location, but we weren't able to easily use that. There needs to be a map. Tour operators said they have tried to solve the problem without success. We nearly missed it.

Montgomery, our guide was very informative.He took us to all the places on the itinerary except the last one, as some people had to get back to their ship. Some passengers were very loud in
telling the guide that they wanted to return and not do the last stop.
We felt sorry for Montgomery that he had to put up with this .
A very good trip apart from the vocal guests,
Perhaps, passengers should tell the guide when they need to return.

Great tour with Humphrey from Amigo tours. We were taken all around St Martin with beautiful stops on the way. Our guide was very knowledgeable & accommodating; he tried his best to give us a good time. The bus was in great shape & the air conditioning was a blessing in the heat! They also provided some coolers on the bus, which was awesome. Good value for money for sure!
Something to keep in mind: If you are on a cruise ship, let the driver know your return timings at the start of the tour, as there may be a bit of a delay with traffic on some routes.

A lot to see around the island in 6 hours. I would have preferred more time at Maho beach and less in Marigot town.

Finding where we were to meet our guide (Humphrey) was the difficult, stressful part. He did a great job. Answering questions; filling in historical and recent issues very well. If we wouldn’t have found helpful locals where the “amigo” tent was we would have wandered even more. We allowed time for this difficulty. It was a covered area with seats so we weren’t standing for a long time. It was well worth the time and money, but it had a difficult beginning.
