What To Expect

This St. Pete Beach LED-illuminated glass-bottom kayak tour takes place at nighttime, making it a fun experience to see the area’s marine life at a time you wouldn’t normally go exploring. Plus, with a guide this is a safe option when journeying on the water in the dark.

First off, meet at the designated spot in St. Pete Beach. Once you meet up with your guide and group, get suited up in provided safety gear and head out onto the water. Stop at a mangrove island that’s home to many bird species.

Next, pass by the Pinellas Bayway Bridge, which is lit up at night beautifully. If the tide allows, kayak under a small tunnel on the way to Boca Ciega Bay Aquatic Preserve. Here you get to feed fish under the supervision of your guide.

After you’re all done, your nighttime kayak tour meets back at St. Pete Beach.

The kayaks are very stable and hold two people. We loved the sunset on the water, exploring the mangroves and feeding the fish. You will get a little wet from the paddles, and may sit in some water. Bring a towel on the boat and maybe some dry clothes for after. It was amazing and peaceful. Jeremy was an excellent guide.

While the concept of ocean kayaking was fun, the experience lacked any excitement. The fish feeding was lack luster as the small amount of food led to one short experience for the kiddos. We anticipated seeing more tropical wildlife along the way. We made it a good time as we do with all our travels but I am unsure we would choose this experience over some of the others we have done.

BEWARE - TOTAL Rip Off. Scam

Total rip off! We booked & paid for an evening kayak tour. Company sent text with directions that had us park at a closed bank, then walk around the streets looking for a walkway that didn't exist. No business in the area knew anything about them. Noone responded to our calls. There were multiple addresses for them online and when we drove there they were closed. Beware Beware Folks! Have heard nothing back from anyone about refund.

Ok but wouldn’t do again

We showed up and there were about 30 people in our tour to 1 tour guide. Could not hear any of the announcements. They then proceeded to tell us we had a tandem when I had booked 2 individual tickets and no where did it say we would be getting a tandem. Thankfully they had an extra for us each to get one. The “tour” wasn’t really a tour. You couldn’t hear the guide, everyone was just kinda doing their own thing. I got stuck in an oyster bed and there really was no warning about it. (When there should have been because we were rounding a corner) You could barely see the fish under the kayaks, but on the side you could see them better. The kayaks were very dirty. They don’t wash off after each tour. The only cool part was feeding the fish food that was provided. I wouldn’t spend the money on this again. They really could up their game to make this a better experience

Even if you’re a seasoned kayaker, this nighttime excursion is well worth it, as the sightings are completely different in the glowing lights. It was an easy paddle and the guide kept us entertained and engaged the entire time.

Our guide was great, but I don’t know why they have you pick a location and then tell you you don’t get that location. I would not have picked the mangroves. I don’t feel like it was worth the time and $.

Guide was very knowledgeable and laid back. We saw a dolphin, sting rays, and a tiny sea turtle along with feeding the catfish! My husband and I kayak often and the guide had no issues when we went ahead of the group and did our own thing.

one of the coolest experiences! I went with my boyfriend, the instructions were clear ( they sent instructions the day of). They were very friendly and helpful. The kayaking was the perfect amount of time. Everyone was having a good time. we saw lots of catfish, we didn't see much else ( one starfish and one crab) but it was still worth it. I am sure the lack of wildlife was because we went on a cold and chilly day. Bring headphones because the guide does a podcast style talk while on the kayaking tour. 10/10 experience. will do again when it's warmer.
