Stroll along the red brick-paved walkway that winds through the park, and admire palms and cycads native to the area, and from as far away as Brazil, Tanzania, and Malaysia. Each tree includes a detailed plaque with additional information. A variety of flower beds can also be found throughout the park. Enjoy the tranquil atmosphere from the gazebo, or from one of the conversation corners with wooden benches.
The arboretum is included as part of certain St. Petersburg sightseeing tours, such as Segway tours, which will usually include other highlights in the downtown St. Petersburg waterfront area. It’s also easy to combine a visit to the arboretum with nearby North Shore Park or Vinoy Park.
The arboretum is located on North Shore Drive, at the foot of 10th Ave NE. There’s free parking in the adjacent parking lot. Many visitors make a stop at the arboretum while walking, running, or biking the trails of Vinoy Park or North Shore Park.
The arboretum is open year-round from morning until evening, but it's recommended that you check out the opening schedule before your visit. The arboretum is fairly small, and does not require that much time to explore. Visit in different seasons to see different flowers in bloom. Special events are held here from time to time, which can affect access.
The arboretum is located close to North Shore Park. Spanning 33.2 acres (13.4 hectares), North Shore Park stretches along Tampa Bay from the Coffee Pot Bayou to Vinoy Park. It includes the North Shore Aquatics Complex, the North Shore Sports Complex, a beach, playground, dog park, and more.
