What To Expect
Prepare for an early morning pickup to make the most of the full day, and then watch the landscape and vegetation change during the 3.5-hour drive inland to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. One of Costa Rica's most famous and distinctive ecosystems, the cloud forest thrives on a near-constant stream of moisture and is home to more than 2,500 plant species, 400 types of birds, and 100 mammal species.
After arrival at the Selvatura Park adventure base, prepare for your first activity with a safety and equipment orientation (order of activities may vary). For the zipline tour, strap into a safety harness and launch from treetop platforms to soar through the misty forest canopy. Fly on 15 different cables of various lengths, including the immense ‘Superman’ cable that stretches more than a half mile (1 km) long and towers 590 feet (180 meters) above the forest floor. If you like, connect with your wild side with a ride on the giant Tarzan swing.
After a break for lunch (included), slow it down with the hanging bridges adventure. Get a bird’s-eye perspective on Monteverde's treetop life while walking across eight suspended bridges that range between 150-510 feet (50-170 meters) in length and 36-180 feet (12-60 meters) in altitude. The spacious bridges are among the widest and strongest in Costa Rica for a secure and comfortable walk through the clouds.
Once you've completed both adventures, descend back to the forest floor and relax on the return drive to the Pacific coast, where the 12-hour tour concludes with evening drop-off at your hotel.

Amazing to see the change in topography and flora. The zip lining was great. We had never done it before. We went in April which is still the dry season so it was perfectly clear and dry with great visibility. This was a long day for us because we left from Tamarindo for the Monteverde cloud forest. Had to leave at 5:30 am but was totally worth it. Our tour guide, Kevin, and driver Alex, did a great job. Was a long day for them too!

We had an amazing experience on this excursion! Our guides Kevin & Nicole and our driver Johnny were so great, they gave us a ton of info about the region and the experience, and were all very friendly! It was a fairly long drive but totally worth it with a stop at fantastic authentic Costa Rican restaurant for breakfast, and followed by a two hour hike in the cloud forest with an hour long zip-line adventure. It poured rain while we were hiking, which was not unbearable but definitely bring a set of shoes, pants and a jacket that will do well in the rain. You can buy rain gear there but it is expensive. Zip-lining was so fun and we were well guided by the instructors. The views were unbelievable especially on the 1km zip-line at the end! We also stopped at an awesome Italian restaurant for lunch and it was delicious! We will absolutely be doing this same excursion again when we return to Costa Rica!

Well coordinated in terms of pick up and drop off. Our tour guide was excellent. He introduced us to several local birds during our hike. Following the hike we got to enjoy 13 different zip lines. The park takes pictures of you while zip lining that you can purchase for an additional cost. Following our visit, our tour guide facilitated a group lunch at a local restaurant that was enjoyable. This activity was one of the highlights of our visit. Be prepared, the drive up and down the mountain can be a little scary at moments but our driver was highly skilled.

Absolutely recommend this tour, it was a blast! 12 ziplines total plus hanging bridges. The lunch was delicious, about 15 minutes away from the tour. Definitely worth the money

The guide was lovely.
We sadly didn’t see any wildlife on this tour.
What made up for it though was the zip lining. 13 zip lines, some super long racing way above the trees. Such a thrilling experience.
Felt very safe, the guides on the zip lines also ride along the same lines.

This was a very unorganized and disappointing experience. We were picked up on time but given no communication on anything. Drove to the Salvatura facility and dropped off without any details. Everyone on my bus were so confused. We proceeded to wait in line for 30 minutes to be checked in and were told we did not have a tour guide and that the Superman zip line was not included in our booking. This was very disappointing and annoying because I would not have booked this without a guide. The experience sucked. I reached out to the Viator booking and after hours of back and forth, they admitted fault and offered a $33 refund. Ridiculous. The zip lining was fun but could have booked that with anyone. Overall, there are other companies you can book with that will be honest about what you’re paying for and give better communication.

Zip lining through the cloud forest was beyond all expectations. While we were not prepared for the drizzle at Monteverde, the whole family and the kids simply loved every bit of the hanging bridges, the lofty sights and the walk thru the tropical forest cover. This tour is a MUST!

The best combination experience of being in the Cloud Forest and Ziplining. Special thanks to Daniel, the Selvatura Ziplining lead. Daniel and his team went out of their way to take care of group members who had special needs. The team members were well trained and put in special effort to help those who needed it. The Hanging bridges part was not as exciting, but beautiful flora and could have been spaced out with a break for coffee. The lunch was exceptional at Bon Appetit. Transportation pick up and drop off was well coordinated. Overall, a must do , when in Monteverde
