Magical experience!

We had a most fabulous time! Mt Etna was incredible, the scenery magical, and the wine and food tasting delicious. The winery we visited was beautiful. Marc, our guide was amazing! He was very kind, very knowledgeable, and simply all around pleasant to be around. I highly recommend this tour and especially also Marco.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and educated us on the geology and the history of Mount Etna. We enjoyed exploring a lava tube and hiking to the top of a crater with wonderful views. The wine tour and food was also amazing.

Maurizio was the best tour guide! He is extremely knowledgeable with the history and interesting facts about the area and Mt Etna. The winery tour was truly an amazing experience. The food and wine are incredible.

Tour guide didn’t show up

I really would give this tour zero stars as the driver never showed up. We waited and waited. No one called us. We had to get in touch with the company to find out the tour guide had “car trouble”. Sure. And there’s a bridge in Brooklyn I’d like to sell you. Viator also farmed out a private car from Palermo to Taormina for my husband and I and the driver never showed up. Apparently “car trouble”. You can’t make this stuff up. I’ve used Viator for many, many years. They now farm out their tours to more local tour companies. These local companies seem to have no interest in customers or making money. From now on we will only allow the hotel to book tours for us. The hotel’s power is respected and the local companies do not want to make enemies with the hotel. I will never book with Viator again.

Contact the agency you booked it with. As for the Etna tour, I am very sorry for what you wrote. I don't think I deserve this. When the guide called me to tell me that the car had stopped on the highway, I called the hotel immediately. We worked hard to find a new guide. When we found the guide, I called the hotel and said: The new guide will arrive in 30 minutes. I repeat, in just 30 minutes at the hotel, happy to work for you. You responded through the hotel front desk that you did not want to wait. When I realized that you did not want to wait 30 minutes, I thanked you, apologized for the inconvenience and took action to fully refund you. You and the hotel thanked me for the prompt refund. As a confirmation of our good faith. Kind Barbara it was you who did not want to take the tour, I tell this with Respect. Everything was ready for you: New guide, private tour of Etna and food and wine tasting at the Etna winery. Alessandra picked us up at our hotel on time. She also communicated beforehand what to wear (long pants, tennis shoes/hiking boots, rain jacket). We didn't have rain jackets, but she provided them for us. We went end of Sept and it was cold enough for a coat. She was very knowledgable of the area and very enthusiastic about our tour. Easy to communicate English with. Then the winery was delicious and beautiful! A+ Day!

Alessandra was a perfect guide, friendly, informative but discreet. I commend her driving the roads round Etna. As a solo traveller it can sometimes be awkward being mixed into semi-private tours, but this was a great success with Nick and Amy from Brooklyn. We all seemed to get along and the tour was 7 hours of chatter and fun, through three very different vineyard experiences. I thoroughly recommend this tour

Our family had the best time on our tour with Anthony and Davide! We saw all the sites- Mt. Etna, wineries, caves and craters, and wonderful small towns along the way- and learned all about them, and so much more! Anthony and Daviide were so knowledgeable and helpful - they took the experience to a completely different level. This tour and these guides are an absolute must for anyone traveling to Sicily. Cannot recommend it enough!!!

We traveled as a family of three with Samuela as our guide. She was amazing - very knowledgeable and outgoing. We never felt rushed at all. We have never been on the top of an active volcano and this trip certainly did not disappoint. We loved our time at Etna and the Gambino winery was top notch in both service and quality. The winery venue is extremely lovely and the views are truly amazing. The wine and food were both excellent.

The tour of the volcano and surrounding area was amazing. The winery was exquisite—- beautiful charcuterie, delicious wine and wonderful service. But the best part of the tour was our guide. He was friendly and funny, and extremely knowledgeable. All in all, a wonderful tour!!!

Bruno Ferro was our guide and this man is a true Sicilian gem. From the first moment he made us feel comfortable and welcome. The tour was fantastic, we went and walked on several cinder cones and craters from older eruptions and were told about the history of Etna and the surrounding towns. Also the honey oil and wine tasting were delicious. The tour of the Gambino winery was a high point if the trip. This tour is a must
