Overview

While in Jamaica, take a day trip to the Blue Hole, a paradise in the hills of the White River Valley. This full-day tour from Falmouth starts with a scenic drive into the rainforest-covered hills to reach the natural pools and waterfalls of the Blue Hole. What To Expect

After morning pickup from your Falmouth hotel or the cruise ship terminal, travel in an air-conditioned vehicle east of Ocho Rios, catching a glimpse of local villages in the mountains.

Taste tropical fruits as you take in views of lush rainforest and stop at Jamaica's oldest hydroelectric plant, which was built in the 1930s. Upon arrival at the Blue Hole, meet your local guide who escorts you on the hike around the many waterfalls. Stand under the falls for a shoulder massage, explore the cave, hop on the rope swing to jump into the water, and swim in the turquoise blue pools.

After your visit to the Blue Hole, go sightseeing in the mountains and experience the Jamaican culture as you pass through local communities. Have some time in Ocho Rios to shop at Sonia's Plaza, Taj Mahal or the local craft market, then end your tour when your driver returns you to your resort or cruise terminal.

Excellent tour. This was effectively a private tour with a highly knowledgeable driver. The cruise ship had to change arrival ports at the last minute, and the tour company was very accommodating, meeting us at the new port with no trouble. Gregory, with Melvyns Paradise Tours, was very friendly, pointed out and explained various landmarks, and added local flavor. He toured us around St. Anns, showing us local markets, national hero monuments, and beautiful views. Blue Hole was a great experience. It does require significant physical exertion and is not for those with disabilities. It is not commercialized like Dunns River Falls, and provides a more natural experience of climbing waterfalls in a natural jungle environment. After Blue Hole, Gregory took us to Scotchies for lunch. Excellent food. He stayed wit us for lunch and was a great conversationalist. He treated us all very well, answered all of our questions and gave us a broader sense of Jamaica than just going to an attraction. Highly recommended!

Should tell us how long the drive is and that we may be forced to do a river tubing event which we didn't sign up for.

The trip was fun but the drive was too long and we had to wait a long time for other groups before we could go back and they had to kill time driving us around. I would have rather been able to get back.

This was such a great excursion. The Blue Hole is so beautiful! Cool Dane was such an awesome host. We stopped and got great souvenirs and had awesome food at Linda's! You won't be disappointed!!

I was SO excited about this! The driver was so nice. We were traveling with tweens 12-14 and he was entertaining with his information, stopped to get them sugar cane, and also a real Jamaican jerk experience! When we get to blue hole, well, I thought I had made a HUGE mistake. The water is not swimmable, turbulent, cold, and you jump in from WAY high up. I thought for sure no one was gonna jump. I went first to show everyone that death was not imminent. Scared out of their wits, they one by one took the plunge! Wow! I can’t tell you how great they felt about themselves for conquering blue hole! It was SO MUCH fun! The tour lasts a while, hiking on slippery paths to jump in several different places. The guides were great, holding hands and helping over iffy places. Don’t forget to bring a little cash for tips and maybe some jerk on the way back. We were at port on a cruise and had plenty of time for this fun activity!

Our cruise ported in Falmouth Jamaica and we wanted a memorable experience for the day and boy did we get one! We loved the personalized experience we got by hiring Marvyn’s Paradise Tours, Tyrone our driver showed us some of Jamaican culture including stopping at a local road side business where we were able to each have our own fresh coconut to drink from and then we got to eat the meat too! Tyrone then waited for us while we did the blue hole. The blue hole and water fall was amazing!! Our guide/life guard literally held our hands through the water fall and rocks and then took pictures with our phone To capture the day! He knew exactly when to encourage someone out of their comfort zone and when not too!! We had an incredible day that we will never forget!! Tyrone then brought us to a couple shops as we had requested and then delivered us safely back to our ship! I would definitely hire Marvyn’s Paradise Tours again! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Active and Interesting Day

We--two couples-booked this tour as an alternative to excursions from our cruise ship. It's a great way to see the Jamaica while avoiding large tour bus crowds. Sean was a fun and informative guide and we learned a lot about the country and language during our drive to and from the Blue Hole. The Blue Hole hike requires some nimbleness with climbing stairs and rocks but the guides are great, literally holding your hand every step. Definitely bring or buy water shoes ($15 on location). Also, be aware that, if you buy the photos, shoes, or drinks (this is NOT part of Marvyn's tour so no reflection on them), you will need to pay cash--the photos are pricey too--as they can't get a signal to run credit cards. Sean took us to a wonderful beachfront restaurant for lunch and a swim which was a relaxing oasis after our active morning at the falls. The food and service were also good (bonus!) and they accepted credit cards. This tour is great if you're up for a little physical activity and a really good value. I would highly recommend it. We saw families there with children around 7 and up and, of course, they navigated the climb and jumps much better than the adults. A great family, couples, and friends outing. I would definitely recommend it.

We were picked up on time for the blue hole excursion. We had an informative, fun, energetic, kind, and knowledgeable tour guide named Shawn. We learned a lot about Jamaica. Our ride to the blue hole was comfortable and educational. Shawn taught us about Jamaican history and showed us sights along the way. The blue hole was so fun! After the Blue Hole we went to a yummy place on the beach for lunch. The beach was beautiful and the Jerk chicken was delicious! Our kids ages 17,14, 12, and 8 list this as their favorite excursion and favorite part of our whole cruise. We felt safe the whole time and loved our time in Jamaica, I would highly recommend this excursion!

This tour was amazing. Every single one of us enjoyed ourselves. Dalton our driver picked us up from the cruise ship terminal and drove us to the Blue Hole. He was very happy to share his heritage and his country with us, right down to the food. He took us to a marvelous restaurant that served us jerk chicken and pork that was delicious after our adventure at the blue hole. Alex, our guide at the blue hole was very patient with some of us that were a little slower than otherS. He was there to make sure we didn't hurt ourselves and to make sure our experience was a great one. This young man was a superstar in our eyes. Everyone there was very nice. You will not find a better tour or tour guide than Dalton. It was a real treat to go on this Tour and will encourage anyone that likes adventure to try it. YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!

This was a fabulous tour excursion! We were in port for a day with our cruise and this was a wonderful dive into the local beauty and culture of the island. Not only was the Blue Hole a wonderful immersion activity, it was not overly crowded and included a personal guide for each group. Our driver was so accommodating and even stopped off at a local joint called Scotchies that was great. I highly recommend the jerk chicken but be careful of the island punch as it packs real punch! You will want to be sure to wear the water shoes they recommend as the rocks around the water and in the pools can be slippery and a bit rough. Overall, this was really great tour for our group of eight. Highly recommend.
