Central Adelaide’s most important square, Victoria Square is known to the Kaurna people as “tarntanyangga” (red kangaroo dreaming). A special-events space and popular lunch spot for local workers, it’s home to statues, lawns, gum trees, and the 1960s Three Rivers Fountain. Nearby landmarks include St. Francis Xavier Cathedral.
In such a short space of time we learnt a lot about the history of buildings and the people of Adelaide. Graeme obviously new his subject very well and had some entertaining stories from the past. Well done
A great tour that highlighted the history of Adelaide and the prominent explorers/founders and noteworthy buildings around Victoria Square. Graeme was very friendly and knowledgeable, this tour is definitely good value for money.
Great walking tour with a knowledgeable and friendly guide. We learned lots we would otherwise never have known about the area, and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. Many thanks to Graeme for a great tour.
Our tour guide, Graeme, was a wealth of knowledge. It was amazing how he made the historical information so interesting. We started and finished at the Town Hall and literally walked around Victoria Square discussing the notable buildings and statues and the history behind them. Graeme imparted, not only the history of them, but provided us with some hilarious anecdotes along the way. One of the best walking tours we’ve been on.
Graeme was personable, entertaining and very knowledgeable. The tour was a great introduction to Adelaide. A walking tour, for me, is always a Must when I come to a new city. Graeme did not disappoint.
We were a small group so I was able to hear all the information easily. Graeme, our guide, was very knowledgeable and obviously enjoyed the experience of showing us around. It's a great way to orientate yourself in a new place.
A most enjoyable tour. Our guide’s knowledge of Adelaide, it’s history and the background stories of the people and the events that made the city was so interesting. I heartily recommend this tour.
Graham our guide was very informative. I didn't believe we could fill 2 hours just walking around the square but there was so much history and stories about the characters who influenced the development of the city that the time flew by.
