Ming Tombs (Ming Shisan Ling) Tours and Tickets

Our tourguide Susan was very friendly and told us many things about the country, culture and the sites. On the way in the car she shared a lot of things about we saw through the window as well. In the morning she and our driver were on time, ( even she contacted me last night so I was very about the communication) hold the tag with my name in the lobby so we could recognize her quickly. Our driver was amazing as well. Usually I have motion sickness but this time can not happen. Without knowing, Susan asked the driver to drive carefully through the hills so she was very attentive. She guided us through the entire tour, walk with us on the wall full time. It was amazing, almost nobody, just us. It was cold but full sunshine. After left the wall and after one hour drive we visited the tombs. Again lot of information and guidance. So we were very happy after arrived back to the hotel with full of memories. It was a perfect day with a perfect staff! Thank you again!!

An amazing trip, and the early start is worthwhile to avoid long queues. The cable car up and toboggan down are great fun too!

My main objective was seeing the Great Wall; the Ming Tomb was a bonus. Jun was a lovely man and a good tour guide. The jade store and lunch were both tourist traps, and just wasted time. It would have been impossible for me, a solo traveler not speaking the language, to navigate the Great Wall alone, so booking this tour was excellent. In hindsight, I would have opted for just a Great Wall Tour, as Jun did not join us up to the Great Wall, and I would have loved to here some history while on the Wall.

The trip started early in the morning, but we went to the Ming Tombs first due to Beijing's traffic. It is a lovely place to visit and know the history. After that, we went to the Jade factory, which in my opinion, is a total waste of time and a complete tourist trap. It is just a store where they sell jade pieces, with a bit of history at the beginning. The lunch was at that same place with a decent amount of food. It was not great but good enough to be satisfied. The highlight of the tour is definitely the Great Wall. We spent around 2 hours up in the wall after around 1 hour of queueing for the cable car. Badaling section is very crowded but being in the middle of the crowd climbing up the stairs and steep ramps is definitely an experience. Would recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the Great Wall the first time and see its magic.
