How to get there
Devonport is the nearest city to Leven Canyon in northwest Tasmania, so first drive to Devonport when coming from Launceston. From there, take National Highway 1 to Ulverstone and follow the B15 until the end. Loongana Road, a paved road, will take you the rest of the way to both of the canyon’s entry points.

The best time to visit Leven Canyon is during either summer or autumn, meaning between December and May. You’re less likely to encounter rain or fog during this time of year, giving you a better chance to enjoy the canyon’s viewpoints. These conditions should also make the walks at Leven Canyon more enjoyable, with the tracks less likely to be muddy and the temperatures more comfortable for being outdoors.
