The Plaza de la Cultura won’t be your go-to spot for people-watching or cultural engagement in San Jose. Instead, it’s a nice place to temporarily catch your breath after visiting the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum or National Theater of Costa Rica surrounding the plaza. While many walking or museum tours may pass by the plaza, feel free to include it only on your itinerary as a waypoint between other, more culturally significant attractions.
