Parliament House

Free admission
Salamanca Place, Hobart, Tasmania, 7000

The basics

While you can see the building from the outside or spend a bit of time in the public galleries (when Parliament is sitting), it’s worth hopping on one of the tours run by House of Assembly parliamentary assistants. These tours provide insight into the building and its role in modern-day political life. Tours generally include visits to both chambers and the Parliamentary Museum. They run around an hour in length.

St. George's Anglican Church

Another of architect John Lee Archer's many Hobart creations, St. George's Anglican Church has been a local landmark since it was erected in 1838. It's worth visiting this hilltop church to check out the architecture and views, or you can attend one of the regular services held at the church to this day.
