Plopsa Indoor Hasselt is located in the town of Hasselt, just north of Liège (Belgium) and west of Maastricht (the Netherlands). Trains to Hasselt run from across Belgium and the Netherlands; from the train station, take bus 20a or 45 to Hasselt Rijksadministratief Centrum, about a 15-minute walk from the park. From Maastricht, take bus 20a or 45 and get off at Hasselt Provinciehuis, also about a 15-minute walk away.
Plopsa is a year-round park with occasional special events in the summer and around Christmas. Hours vary depending on the season—check the calendar on the park’s website. Note that Plopsa sometimes has “quiet days,” in which some of the attractions function only part of the time.
Before or after visiting Plopsa, stop by a few other Hasselt-based sights. Check out the Fashion Museum, Abdijsite Herkenrode (the oldest Cistercian abbey in Belgium), and the Virga-Jesse Basilica. Or, learn all about gin’s predecessor at the Jenevermuseum.
