The basics

Built by the British in the 18th century, Fort Marlborough is a warren of tunnels and rooms carved out of the island’s bedrock. Visitors can follow along independently using audio guides that are included in the ticket price, and climb to a viewpoint at the top of the fort. The audio guide shines a light on Fort Marlborough’s historic connections—including to an ancestor of Winston Churchill.
