GulfQuest is an educational and engaging stop on Mobile’s scenic riverfront. The hands-on museum has everything from a panoramic pilot simulation to the Great Gulf Challenge—an interactive game that let visitors try their hand at managing the economic and environmental challenges facing the gulf. GulfQuest can also arrange guided tours for large groups.

How to Get There

GulfQuest sits on the Mobile waterfront, close to downtown, and is easily accessible on foot from many downtown attractions and accommodations. The town of Mobile is about 150 miles (241 kilometers) east of New Orleans on I-10 East.

When to Get There

The museum is open Tuesday–Sunday and is closed on major holidays, including Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras. Check the museum’s schedule to find out about temporary exhibits.

In addition to GulfQuest, the small town of Mobile offers several other surprisingly impressive museums. Just one street away, you can visit the History Museum of Mobile, the Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center, and the Fort of Colonial Mobile.
