Mayfield Falls

Williamsfield

The basics

Visitors can walk the length of the Mayfield River to all 21 cascades. Guides are available at the falls and can provide advice on the safest way to explore the falls, including where to walk, jump, and scramble, and how to navigate the underwater caves safely and to get behind several of the waterfalls, including the largest waterfall, the 9.8-foot (3-meter) “Washing Machine.”

Mayfield Falls can be visited as part of a tour from Negril, Montego Bay, and Ocho Rios, and combined with other attractions such as Benta River Falls, Rick’s Café in Negril, or Margaritaville in Negril.

Great little gem
Three of us in our group with our own guide. Yes the falls are small in comparison to some other falls, but the guide was great and did interesting things with the group, including taking photos for us with our cameras. Good lunch to follow. The locals need our support so just go for it.

When to get there

Mayfield Falls is open daily from 9am to 5pm. Although the site isn’t as packed as other waterfalls in Jamaica, it’s best to arrive early to beat the crowds. Most guided tours of the falls last 1 to 2 hours. The rocks can be especially slick and difficult to climb during the rainy season (May, June, October, and November).
