It’s accessible by public transportation, including the 7, 20, and 78 buses. It’s also close to the VA-195. Parking can be found on the street itself or at lots at Crenshaw and Dooley or Sheppard and Colonial.
Most of the shops along Carytown are open from 10am to 6pm, Monday through Saturday. Some shops are also open on Sundays. It’s best to check individual businesses for their opening hours. The Carytown Farmers Market is held every Sunday from 11am to 3pm. Visit in March for the French Film Festival and in August for the Watermelon Festival.
The Byrd Theater is one of the highlights of Carytown. The national historic landmark shows movies daily and holds weekend performances on its Mighty Wurlitzer Organ.
