3 Days in Antalya for Foodies

Curated by Jenna Scatenawho strongly believes Antalya has some of the best food in Turkey.

Foodies flock to Antalya for the creative fusion of traditional Turkish cuisine, fresh seafood, and locally grown produce with Mediterranean influences. It’s not hard to plan your entire day around the city’s dining experiences, from filling Turkish breakfasts to an assortment of mezes and grilled fish.

For me, dining in Antalya is all about the variety. I like to eat scrumptious fast-food kebabs as much as perfectly steamed sea bass served in an upscale oceanfront dining room. My foodie itinerary will have you hopping from one mouth-watering meal to the next, all while discovering the unique flavors of Turkey (officially the Republic of Türkiye).

The weather is largely warm and temperate, but make sure to pack according to Antalya's seasons.

If you only have time for one thing, make it the local flatbread called gozleme.

Day 1

Begin with a breakfast that introduces you to Turkish cuisine like gozleme at a restaurant such as Sevgi Çiftliği or Sakinler Kır Bahçesi. Then, go out and explore. Many tours include the Tunek Tepe Mountain cable car, Düden Falls and Kursunlu Waterfall, and the most notable landmarks in Antalya’s Old Town, Kaleichi, where you'll find Hadrian’s Gate, the Roman Harbor, and Clock Tower.

After lunch, often included with tours, relax at a traditional hammam, where you can unwind and indulge in an aromatherapy massage. In the evening, dine at a restaurant such as Ayar Meyhanesi or Ramiz Grill House.

Day 2

Start an adventurous day two by paragliding from Alanya to Antalya. Take in views of the city, beaches, cliffs, and the mountains that surround Antalya on a 30-minute tandem guided flight. Back on land, refuel with a pastry and a brew from Coffeetopia or Filab Coffee. Visit Antalya’s sand sculpture museum, located at Lara Beach.

In the afternoon, take a private yacht cruise to fish and snorkel in crystal clear waters, or sunbathe and relax on deck. A fresh meal is provided on board so you don't have to worry about a great place to find dinner.

Day 3

On day three, discover the jewels of the Antalya region on a tour of the five best-known landmarks including Perge, Aspendos, Side, and the Kursunlu Waterfall. Get a glimpse into the rich past of this area and a taste of its cuisine with lunch by the Eurymedon River.

For less history and more adrenaline, spend the day at The Land of Legends Theme Park. You can arrive at any time, so you’re free to wander and have lunch at your leisure in town. For your last meal in Antalya, choose from favorites such as Mehmet, Arma Restaurant, or Yemenli Meyhanesi.
