Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden

The basics

Located in Pamplemousses, near Port Louis, Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden, also known as the Pamplemousses Botanic Garden, was formally named after the first prime minister of Mauritius in 1988 following his death. The sheer variety of plant species, including ones from Central America, Asia, and Africa, make the garden interesting, but the grounds aren't always well-tended. For a deeper understanding, visit with a local guide.
