Overview

If you don't have the time, or the expertise required, to go on a glacier expedition on foot, a helicopter tour is a great way to see the glaciers surrounding Anchorage. This tour takes you over spectacular scenery and makes three landings—one alpine, one on an ice wall, and one in the middle of Knik Glacier—where you can get out and explore with your guide. You also have the possibility of seeing mountain goats, Dall sheep, moose, and, in the summer months, bears and wolves. Note: in winter, the helicopter lands next to the glacier.

Confirmation will be received at time of booking, unless booked within 2 days of travel. In this case confirmation will be received within 48 hours, subject to availability

CHECK IN is 45 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. If you arrive late, your tour may be shortened or rescheduled and additional cost may be applicable.
SERVICE ANIMALS are permitted if they are secured in a crate only. Call for specifications

Restaurant Service is available on site May 1 - September 30. Snacks are available year round for purchase.
WINTER TOURS - October - April -we are unable to land on top of the glacier due to snow cover. We will land next to the glaciers near the massive ice formations
Guests 300lbs or over require our Astar Helicopter to fly. This is not available for every time/day.Please call direct to assure we have that helicopter available to accommodate prior to booking.
Comfort surcharge applied for anyone over 250lbs. This allows us to block out an additional seat for safety and comfort
Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Best part of my Alaska trip was this tour! We decided to go with the 2 hour three stops. Landing at Knick glacier was amazing, we got to walk on the glacier and drink water from a pool! Haley did an amazing job showing us and even helping us with recording and taking photos for our memories.

I spent a lot of time trying to decide which tour to do and whether it would be worth it. I’m so glad I chose this one. It was a once in a lifetime experience. The landscapes, up close glacier encounters, the wildlife, and an extra landing at Prince William Sound were truly amazing. Our pilot, Shad, was an awesome guide. I highly recommend this company.

Was nice but pilot flew way to horrible turns we all got seas sick and still feel bad. Even when I told him not to do it because it makes me feel bad he did it again. Not good at all

There’s a reason why this company has a five-star rating. My husband and I had two pilots (Wyatt & Bailey) and both were PHENOMENAL young men. Their customer service was exemplary (both were kind, professional, knowledgeable and a joy to ride with). I’m so glad I booked this trip and have zero regrets. The spectacular views and amazing experience we had is a once in a lifetime event. We’ll be booking again next year when we return in the summer or winter. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Well, we got what we paid for and MORE! Don’t hesitate to book. Life is short, and tomorrow isn’t promised so live it up now and enjoy the moments!

Everyone was super friendly and made sure that our safety was a priority! It was an incredible experience that I would highly recommend! The scenery was incredible and the glacier water was good. In addition to the landscape, I got to see a mouse, three bears, and a groundhog because of the beautiful day we day we had! I’m glad I took this tour!

Absolute must. Our guide was great, the landings are great spots with great views and the restaurant was great. Wish the gift shop had more helicopter tour items to choose from but other than that it's perfection.

THE way to see glaciers!

The landing on the glacier had to be the best part. Our pilot was Michael Brooks, and he did an excellent job and really there was no part that was not enjoyable and very informative. My wife had never flown and I have .The landing on the glacier had to be the best part. 1000/10 recommend this glacier tour. Everyone who got off the helicopters before I got one even said how good it was and how it lives up to the hype. I ended up being solo on my tour and Wyatt was my pilot - he did such a great job. He asked me what I wanted to see and I asked for wildlife and the blue glacial pools. On the way to the glacier we flew over and saw several bears playing on the mountainside and on the way back we got to see some moose out and about. While on the glacier we went to several spots, like the blue pools and also some large crevasses. He got some really cool videos and pictures for me. Wyatt did the best job and I would definitely do this excursion again!

Such an amazing tour! We saw bears and mountain goats along the way. Each of the 3 landings had different spectacular views with the final glacier landing being the icing on the cake!

This is an experience I can only try to put into words but they will not be good enough nor will my pics do any of the views justice! This is for the experience of a lifetime- “bucket list people” that truly want an amazing time that is only for a few! See and touch where only a few visit by helicopter only! We went Sept 10th through Sept 17th colors on the mountains changing into fall colors! Bright Yellows, oranges and reds!!! Wildlife out like crazy! Mountain goats, Bear and Moose!! Yes we saw them all in multiple times on this tour! We did the 2 hr 3 landing tour! Loved it! Just Amazing! Truly heavenly as far as the eye can see!!! Thank you!!!! Ronnie & Renae Minnesota
