Get onto the clam waters of Bent Creek near the Biltmore property in Asheville on this self-guided kayak tour. Your kayaks, paddles, and life jackets are all provided for you, so all you need to do is show up ready to have an adventure. When you’re finished kayaking, wind down at the Outpost with a beer.

Getting over the fear of being in wide open water without a guide! My daughter and grandson teased me but all I could think of was “ what if”😂 Once we got going, being in the tranquil , beautiful setting of trees , running water and sun all was good. I have to admit I didn’t realize our trip was 7 miles long when I booked! I would probably have gone with the 3 mile had I known. After all was said and done I was proud I did the 7 miles! It felt like quite an accomplishment for me as I had only kayaked once on a lake. There were rocks along the way and you become adept to spotting the “ swirl” of water running over them. French Broad is alive and beautiful. Our guides driving us were friendly and knowledgeable . They helped calm my fear and put me at ease. Without their calm demeanor I may well have not gone. I’m so glad I did! Be sure to put on sunscreen! My grandson “ forgot” to put on his legs and they are pretty red. Also, pack plenty of water and even a snack. I never saw the island we were told about for getting off and stretching. Not sure how we missed it😂. Overall great trip.. I will admit I was counting the bridges and after the 5th was ready to disembark😂. We would definitely use this venue again for outings and adventures!

Loved the experience. Definitely not interested in using Viator again. Not all of the information that Viator says matches the description of the trip. The company was very accommodating. The only reason I booked with Viator is because I thought I could use my Omni gift card for the excursions that they link from their web page, which wasn't even the case.

Had the time of my life. There were 8 of us and it was such a relaxing end to our business meeting not to mention fun! Unfortunately, didn't get to see the Biltmore due to low water and our route being diverted, but just being on the water was awesome!

It was our first time on kayaking here and it was absolutely enjoyable!!!

Seeing wildlife up close going down the river was great, my group saw an otter playing near the edge and a beaver swimming downstream. Overall a fun and relaxing time.

Great relaxing self guided tour. I had the river to myself and it was very peaceful. I highly recommend this for anyone in the area. And the staff were amazing!
