What To Expect

Select from a morning or afternoon departure to suit your schedule and greet your guide and group in central Barcelona. Climb aboard your electric bike, listen to a brief safety orientation then set off at a leisurely pace behind your guide.

Absorb the rich architectural tableau as you weave your way around the winding streets and absorb the Gothic grandeur of the Barri Gotic and the picturesque charm of Barcelona’s port. Cruise the city’s blissful beachfront and pass through the traditional towns of El Masnou, Montgat and Badalona to catch a glimpse of authentic Catalan culture.

After 1.5-hours of cycling, arrive at Alta Alella Winery in the heart of Serralada de Marina Natural Park. Greet one of the resident winemakers then head into the verdant vineyards to learn about complex productions processes and the region’s rich agricultural heritage. Pamper your palate with the refined flavors of locally made wines during a tasting session, in which local delicacies are also served.

Climb back onto your bike after the tasting session and relax during the serene cycle back to Barcelona. Bid your group and guide a fond farewell at the original departure point of the tour.

Disappointing for the price and time

Our guide was very nice. The bikes and helmets were in need of repair and upgrade. The shop owner arrived late. The tour was scheduled to go until 5pm but we finished at 3:30pm. The route along the beach was beautiful. I really wished we would have stopped to hear more about the sights than we did. Other than a couple of sights, the trip takes you along some industrial buildings and power plant. It would have been great to hear about other landmarks like the arc de triumph which we passed right in front of without explanation or stopping. The winery was nice; wine was good. Lunch was very light with only bread and cheese. Very hungry by the end of the day. They do not give you a bottle of water for this tour like other bike tours so come prepared. They had us put our bikes on the train for the way home. These weigh well over 50lbs and it was difficult to carry up 3 steps of the crowded train. Passengers yelled at us in Spanish for having bikes on the train. Then, you had to put the bike on the escalator to leave the train station. Several of us fell on the escalator and got frustrated trying to do this. If you cannot lift this weight or are older this is impossible. As a seasoned and athletic bike rider I even found this difficult. I felt sorry for the older couple on our tour that struggled. We had 90 minutes left and easily could have rode the bikes back to the shop to be less stressful and see more of the sights. Overall, not worth the cost. We’ve done many other bike tours in several countries and this was my least favorite and most expensive. Disappointing. Would recommend doing a different tour for the time and money. Regret spending most of a full day of vacation on this.

It was cancelled the day before! So disappointed as this was our first day in Barcelona. They did offer a replacement that didn’t include biking and was nice.

We enjoyed every aspect of the tour, our guide, Merco was outstanding. Cycling along the coast through neighbouring towns. The visit to Alella and the wine farm, the tasting, the picnic lunch, our wonderful host, the winemaker Andrew. We loved every moment.

Lovely way to experience the seaside landscape by an easy bike ride. Marco our guide, stopped every 2 -3 kilometers. The winery tour and guide was superb. We had time to ask questions, enjoy the views wine and tapas! Wonderful tour!

Trip Highlight !

We all met by the bike rental and set off. Learning to use an electric bike was the only challenge I had, but it soon became easier. We visited some great spots on the route to the vineyard and Miro our guide explained many things about the histories involving people and buildings and areas. The ride was easy although on the motorway you do need to remember that your on a highway and that can cause you to separate from the group at times (red lights etc) but they always found you and waited. The vineyard was beautiful, the wines and taps delicious and unique. I just wished we rode back instead of the metro as the weather was soo nice, but I understand that for some people the ride was long enough. Many thanks for an excellent day!!

Beautiful Coastline Ride

The bike ride along the coast on the way to the winery is beautiful! We made a couple stops along the way and our guide, Marco, always made sure no one got lost. The winey was very cute and had lovely views. Lunch was also tasty! The train ride back was not as glamorous. The train was PACKED and we had to squeeze 10+ bikes onto it. There were also steps getting onto the train so we had to lift the bikes onto the train (and it's a little heavier than a standard bike). The random strangers on the train were so nice and helpful but it was a bit stressful in the moment. After the train ride we made a few more stops before the tour came to an end. Overall I would recommend adding this excursion to your trip!

We loved this tour! Gaurav was a great guide- relaxed and fun and knowledgable. He even provided some great food recommendations at the end. The bike ride is easy enough with the ebikes. They help significantly and it only got a little bit difficult at the end when we reached the hills. We were a little sore from the seats more than from the ride haha. We rode along the beautiful coast nearly the whole way. The winery was beautiful and we got to try 4 different types of delicious wine and take a tour though I will say the winery we went to wasn't actually Alta Alella, it was a different one called Bouquet d'Alella. We biked a short way back to the train station and brought our bikes on the train back to Barcelona where we again had a short ride back to the shop. We definitely recommend this tour!

This was the highlight of our trip! Our guide was awesome, the winery was lovely and gracious. The ride is not for one who is not in shape, it was about 17 miles and the bikes are partially electric, I loved that! I needed a good workout. I highly recommend this adventure!

Alta Alella Winery is incredible and I definitely recommend going there. The bike tour of the portion is a lot of fun but it is a very intense bike ride Approx. 30 miles. The last legs of the trip are up very steep inclines. If you are an active person this tour is awesome and I would recommend it.

This tour was by far our favorite part of our trip to Spain! Our guide was so much fun and really added to the experience. We had so much fun on this trip and the winery we visited was stunning! It was located just on the outskirts of Barcelona and looked out over the Mediterranean Sea.
