Marti was very well informed and gave us a great understanding of the background of Belfast. He asked what we were interested in and gave us an interesting and ‘eclectic’ tour the city. He does other tours that are more specially tailored to political or musical interests too. - we’d happily take them up. Would really recommend this tour 👍

We had a smaller crew so we were able to move at pace throughout the city and hit all of the spots and hear Martie's opinions and history lessons. Quite interactive and enjoyable and loved the amount we got to see. Definitely worth the money and time and a great mid-morning, early afternoon activity as the tour was only 2.5 hours.

Thanks Evan, and yes as a small group we could weave in and out of the city center. without clogging the streets up like bigger groups, and move without delay. You're able to hear and interact with both me and the city better. And do my best to keep the price resonable for the 2.5 to 3 hours your with me.

A must do walking tour of Belfast

Our guide Marti is a walking talking encyclopedia of the past & present history of Belfast. He will immerse you in the history of Belfast from the Vikings, through the potato famine & in to the various attempts of English rule. The recent history is all about the Troubles & this part of the history is treated with respect. Present day Belfast is all about reunification & assimilation & Marti will lead you through this with the sensitivity it deserves. I recommend this tour to everyone who visits Belfast.

Must have caught Marti on a bad day There were just the 2 of us Started the tour with basically a history lecture which we couldn’t possibly remember Stick to the basics ‘ya’ Marti is insulting and condescending He doesn’t represent most Irish who are extremely friendly and helpful We did enjoy the places we were taken to We definitely didn’t enjoy Marti

I loved Marti's sense of humor and style. It was truly eclectic; history, architecture, art, trivia, local interest like an active market, rock n roll trivia including which bar Taylor Swift frequented and where Stairway to Heaven was first performed and suggestions for where to stand for a good photo. A whole lot more fun than I could have imagined. He started the tour by querying the group and adapted his tour to meet that. He seemed to know everyone and we went in all sorts of interesting places I never expected. Very much recommend!!!

Great walking tour

This was a fantastic tour. Marti tailored the tour to the group’s interests — he found out what our jobs were and pointed out things that were related, and he asked us what we wanted to learn about and made sure to focus on that. We talked about architecture and history, and he showed us a bunch of different street art, and he knows some of the artists! Plus, he gave us recommendations on places to eat and visit, and he was super friendly. You get a really good overview of Belfast, so it’s definitely worth your time!

Experience Belfast the Marty way!

Marty was an exceptional guide cramming so much information and individual locations into our tour. He told us to places that would/could not have accommodated other larger groups. Going round the city he seems to know a load of people and recounts personal stories as well as a HUGE amount of history. Whilst outside City Hall he identified the Lord Mayor and we were able to be photographed with her. Marty is a great investment of your time in Belfast.

Great walk around the city with Marti…. Not too much detail about the political struggles just history of Ireland in general and where Belfast is today….. some great street art. Beautiful visit to the Merchant hotel…. You must visit the toilets!!! Thanks Marti it was great.

Marty was so knowledgeable about his subject, and obviously proud of the fine city he comes from. We did the tour on the first day of our stay, and he was keen to gives us pointers about places we could return to after the tour. We walked extensively and got a real feel for the place now, as well it’s rich history
