We had a great time at Tikal with our guide Henry Paredes. He was knowledgeable and took time to explain the history of the place. Henry also offered to capture some photos and video of our family. He was great at finding and pointing the wildlife. Also, they are very organized and communicated with me before the trip to confirm the pickup location as well as providing information about our tour guide and driver. Overall, we had a great time and I highly recommend this tour.

This was an incredible tour. Highly recommend

Booking this with Marlon was easily one of the best decisions of the whole trip. Marlon is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He has been leading tours to Tikal for 20 years and he had answers to our our 1000 questions. He was able to point out tons of birds and other animals. Marlon was a joy to be with all day and was extremely patient as we took it all in. We told Marlon that if we knew anyone coming to Tikal that we would immediately give them his number. Marlon wasn’t only an expert on Tikal and Mayan history, he also gave us a ton of recommendations for the rest of our travels in Guatemala. This was absolutely a 5/5 experience. My friend and I thought we could do the park alone and almost didn’t book this tour. We are so grateful we did. If you are considering it- book this! Cheers

Marlon was a great guide, gave many insights on ruins, restoration process, local plants and animals - many details would be missed without him. Transport and overall organization and itinerary was flawless. Recommended for everyone.

Learned a lot and saw lots of amazing temples and also learned a lot about the plant life and saw lots of animals!
Highly Recommend! This is the tour to do!

We had the most amazing time with Marlon. I booked this tour with my brother and we got to see all the highlights of Tikal in the day. Marlon is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history of the Mayans, which made the tour even more fun. He knew the answers to all of our questions and the coolest part was he has the eye of a hawk. He was spotting toucan birds, monkeys, and more in the trees miles away. I can’t recommend the tour and more. If you are unsure with who to go with book this trip, and you won’t regret it!
GEM rocks!

Marlon is an excellent guide. Super friendly and very knowledgeable. The sunset portion was super cool and unique. Definitely recommend.
Absolutely worth it!

One word: stupendous. Three words: absolutely worth it! These refer both the Tikal itself - I had heard of it vaguely and had decided to include it in this visit because of recommendations from friends - but also to Marlon. Folks - he is fantastic. He is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge a kit every aspect of Tikal. It is his passion, and his keen desire to share his love for his land and it's heritage comes through. He is patient, flexible and just fun to be around. The tour is well organized. Everything was clear and coordinated well, and communicated well. Though it was a full day (this isn't for the faint of heart or those who just want a photo or two!), Marlon made it truly memorable. We had an unforgettable experience.
Great trip to Tikal

Our guide, Henry, was great - we covered so much ground in the park (bring your walking shoes!), saw a lot of wildlife, and learned a lot about the site and the Maya.
Unforgettable Sunset in Tikal

Incredible experience. Marlon was a fabulous guide who was extremely knowledgeable. He could answer any question we had. He was also able to spot wildlife including crocodiles, toucans, turkeys, tarantulas and so much more. We climbed pyramids, walked through so many buildings, were able to imagine what it would have been like hundreds of years ago.
Well worth it - Marlon is great

This tour was everything we wanted, and more, and Marlon is well worth the hype. I chose the sunset tour just because I don’t like getting up early and I felt it was a great way to spend the whole day. Marlon was kind, courteous, professional, personable, very intelligent, and spoke very good English. He was attentive to our pace and individual needs, and seemed to know the park/ruins like the back of his hand, often taking us around less obvious paths to get to good view points. He was happy to answer all my questions (I had many) about the ruins, the history, Guatemalan culture, and more. Marlon’s knowledge of the wildlife and flora surpassed even his knowledge of the ruins. He could identify all the trees and what they’re used for, spot tiny birds and toucans, and was able to find spider & howler monkeys with his naked eye that I wouldn’t have been able to find with binoculars. We visited during rainy season but we were well prepared with rain jackets, and the rain made the ruins more magical. Would recommend bringing a few small snacks like granola bars, something you could eat and leave no trace behind. We appreciated how eco conscious Marlon was, too, picking up garbage he’d find along the way and insisting the wildlife be left alone (we saw another guide trying to poke at some spiders for his guests during the dark walk back to the cars after sunset). I cannot recommend him enough.
Great experience

Our guide, Marlon, was one of the smartest and most passionate man I have met. We learned so much about history, archeology, and the biology of Tikal as well as had great conversation about life and other topics. We saw many animals and I even got to eat térmites out of the nest! My only complaint is that we arrived to the sunset spot about an hour before sunset, so the tour could have started later.
Informative, enjoyable, low stress way to see beautiful Tikal and the wildlife.

Marlon, our guide, made this trip truly memorable. He spoke very good English, was very knowledgeable on the archeological and wildlife aspects of the National Park and was genuinely a really pleasant person to spend the day with. We saw animals and learned things about plants etc we would not have seen or known. He was a great spotter and we saw, Howler Monkeys, Spider monkeys, tarantula, toucan and various other birds as we wandered. We spent the first few hours after lunch in the jungle looking at wildlife and the parts of the ruins in the jungle which was perfect as it was very hot, then around 3.30 we began exploring the open parts of the ruin when it was cooling down. He timed/ paced the walk perfectly so we were never rushed but saw everything arriving at the sunset temple a half an hour before sunset. A wonderful end to a brilliant day. I recommend this trip to get the most out of the experience but also for the timing if it is hot. Marlon was very happy to answer any of our questions about Guatemala generally which was another bonus. He picked us up in Flores and dropped us back as part of the trip.
Sunset tour with Marlon - what an adventure!

Marlon is the quintessential nature and history guide. It was hot, but he accommodated by finding shady spots to rest and chat. Tikal is a once in a lifetime experience - with the best guide ever.
Stunning sunset tour of Tikal
Iman_K, Feb 2023
This was our favourite tour of all the Mayan ruins we've visited (we've been to three). Not only did we see the stunning Tikal ruins, but we saw so much wildlife across the huge site, including many spider monkeys, a woodpecker, a toucan and so much more! Our guide Henry was hugely knowledgeable and very amenable, never making us feel rushed. The sunset over the ruins at the end was absolutely magical! Highly recommended tour we'll never forget.
Amazing Tour

Book This Tour With Marlon!
Rebecca_V, Aug 2022
We were scheduled for Tikal at sunset, husband didn’t feel well and Marlon kindly rebooked us for a sunrise tour the following day. Marlon (who holds a masters degree) knows everything about Mayan culture and architecture as well as the flora and fauna of the area. The stunning Mayan city, the jungle setting and Marlon’s knowledge made this an unforgettable trip. We spotted spider monkeys, coati and toucans. Worth every penny!
Best tour I have ever been on!
Brenda_Y, Apr 2022
I have been on tours in many parts of the world and this experience soars above the rest. Marlon our tour guide was communicative from the minute we booked, picked us up right on time in Flores, and took us on an unforgettable experience through the Mayan ruins of Tikal. Tikal was breathtaking as we explored the entire park, climbed ruins, took some amazing pictures, learned, and ended the day with a perfect view of the sunset from the top of a pyramid. Words can’t even describe how knowledgeable our guide was. Marlon taught us so many incredible things about this beautiful country ranging from Ancient Mayans, Modern day life in Guatamala, wild life, government, religion, and the countrys history as a whole. By the end of the day my wife and I truly felt like we made a new friend. Thank you again Marlon! I wholeheartedly recommend booking this tour as it far surpassed our expectations!
