The Marlborough wine region produces some of New Zealand’s most prestigious wines and lies just north of Blenheim. This half-day tour offers a comprehensive introduction to Marlborough wine, starting with a delicious lunch (own expense) at a winery restaurant. In the afternoon, visit up to four different wineries to tour the vineyards, learn about the winemaking process, and enjoy expert-led wine tastings.

Our guide, Bill, was knowledgeable, friendly, and had a terrific sense of humor. At the end of our tour he dropped us at two different destinations and that door to door service was greatly appreciated. The lunch we had at the first vineyard was delicious. At each vineyard we visited each host provided interesting details about their vineyard's history and the make-up of each wine. Interesting stories were given how the wines got their names and in each presenter you could see their enthusiasm for the products they were serving. The wines were delectable. Highly recommend this tour.

This was a really fantastic tour with a small group of other lovely people. Chris, who drove the bus and took us around, was very knowledgeable and we sampled a good variety of wines at 4 different wineries. Lunch at the first vineyard was very reasonably priced and lovely. Highly recommend this tour.

Fun and informative

We did the half day tour and were picked up from our hotel by Bill, our driver, who did a great job of ferrying us around the 4 different vineyards and knew a lot about the area. The first stop was at Alan Scott, which was lovely but it seemed they were more interested in getting us to eat and pay for the lunch they provided than educating us on their wines. Gibson Bridge, our 3rd stop, stood out as a great family run vineyard who are passionate about their wines and made the tasting much more entertaining. All in all it was a fun half day with plenty of delicious wines on offer.

We were on a cruise and were unable to find transportation from Picton to Blenheim (30 mins) for the tour. Picton is very small so no taxis, Ubers, buses or trains. All rental cars booked in advance. Communicated with guide prior to and was not informed to arrange transportation in advance. No refund given for tour.

Description implies lunch optional, which it isn't. Those in our party who wanted to opt out of lunch were all but forced into it. Good food but not cheap. Total of 4 wineries visited but all offerings at the lower end of their prices ranges. All in the same glass at each stopping point. Minimal offerings to cleanse the palate. All in all, overpriced for what you got. Would have preferred fewer wines of better quality rather than this offering. Distinct lack of experts apart from one small winery.

Our Private Bespoke tours offer guests the option to choose the level of their tasting experiences, the level of cellar door service, duration of tour and cuisine options, maybe this option would of been more suited to you. I won't be passing on your comments to the cellar doors you visited where you tasted so called cheap wine or your lunch venue which supposedly forced you to eat (don't need to get into the economics of that one), as I strongly disagree. We hope you enjoyed your Marlborough visit all the same.

Wow, just amazing. Toni definitely pulled out the VIP service, or VIT (very important toni) at every winery and made the day extremely special for us. Not only did we drink amazing wine and eat delicious food, the hospitality and laughter (mostly as my partner, Auntie Toni and I are now comedians) made the day truly memorable. Chris was a very good host for our tour. The wineries visited were well selected and provided a good cross section of the region. The commentary in between wineries was very helpful, as was the stop along tje way to show the vines in action.

We had a lovely half day tour that was guided by Bill. Bill was knowledgeable, low key, and very professional in a fun way. We went to four wineries that provided a good selection of family owned wines. We had a great lunch (that I mistakenly thought was included) at the first winery. Overall a great experience.

Just visit the small office of the Vineyard, tasting the wines without any amazing feel/tastes. The wine’s price is more expensive than shops/ supermarkets. Just like visit the vineyard’s sales office.

Unfortunately the world awarded Cellar Door experiences that your group visited didn't meet your expectations, varieties that are offered are their top flight & reserve varieties not found in supermarkets. We do not visit winearies for the purpose of purchasing supermarket wine.
