We were looking forward to the Dune of Pilat and it was an awesome sight. Never seen sand dunes of this magnitude. Even in the rain it was more than worthwhile to be able to climb and walk on them. Kevin was a magnificent host and made sure everyone went at their own comfortable pace. And then the oysters were just sooo good. The best we’ve had anywhere! It was very fun to experience the oysters right next to the farm. Again, Kevin effortlessly made everyone comfortable at lunch and it was so enjoyable.

Kevin, the tour guide, was very attentive to our needs throughout the trip. He had everything planned meticulously - he even brought binoculars so we could see certain sites in the distance from the top of the dune. The oyster place was also phenomenal - known only to locals...and Kevin!

We had a great time! Our driver, Kevin, was excellent. He was knowledgeable about the area and brought us to a great oyster restaurant after our climb up to the top of the dune. This is not to be missed when traveling in Bordeaux. Highly recommended.

It was a wonderful experience. We had enough time to experience the sights and enjoy the oyster tasting in an almost private setting, no rush at all. Kevin was very accommodating when one wanted just a few more moments along the way. The Dune du Pilat is a sight that should not be missed when visiting the area.

What a fantastic experience! Dune du Pilat and the views from the Dune are truly breathtaking. We felt like locals in the oyster cafe as there was no other tourists, and the food was fabulous. Kevin our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and an all round nice guy. I highly recommend this trip to Dune du Pilat.

Awesome experience climbing, walking and taking in the Dune du Pilat. Really appreciated our guide, Kevin, and the way he structured the day. He was very accommodating to our group. The stop for oysters and shrimp was great, as was the quick tour around Arachon which was enhanced by Kevin's commentary.

The tour was awesome. Quick drive to the dunes. An energetic hike up to the top - spectacular views and very informative tour guide Kevin. I highly recommend him. We went oyster tasting; delicious …… and walked around Arcachon understanding how oysters grown and eventually served at a restaurant. So informative ! Drive home was quick and your was only 6 hours 9-3 giving us enough time to explore Bordeaux that afternoon and not waste an entire day.

Dune du Pilat end of the year

I chose to take this tour because I wanted to visit the Dune at the end of the year and there are not many options for getting there. In summer there might be other ways but in December everything is closed and most visitors either go by car or with a tour. I booked for 2 persons and it was just myself and my son on this tour and Kevin decided to still accept to take us. His van can take up to 7 persons so it's not always this private. Kevin got in touch with me when I booked and we negotiated a date and time according to the weather forecast and he was willing to accommodate us. So we went on the 31st of December because there was no rain forecast. He also came to pick us up at our hotel. The tour is not cheap but considering the distance and the lack of accessibility, I think it was still worth it. Kevin is very nice and speaks English fluently. The Dune is not that difficult to climb even for those with some mobility problems and the view is spectacular. From the Dune one has a view of the Atlantic Ocean and of Arcachon Bay. After we came down from the Dune, Kevin took us to a small port town where oysters are harvested. We are not big fans of fish and we did not really like the oysters but they are a tradition in Bordeaux and there is a lot of demand for them. Kevin told me that the end of the year might be difficult to find a place serving oysters and actually the first place we went to did not have any. It was not important for me but Kevin insisted to find another place since the oysters and a glass of wine are included in the tour and he eventually managed. I would recommend this tour with Kevin because visiting the dune is an experience which one shouldn't miss when visiting Bordeaux and going with Kevin is a nice experience. He was very patient and I especially appreciated that he accepted to change the date of the tour so that we could go in nice weather. Thank you, Kevin.

Had a fantastic day with Kevin. He was accomodating of all our asks. Great communications throughout. Dunes were incredible. Many insta worthy opportunities to try and capture the beauty of this location. We finished off with wine and oysters or prawns for the non oyster eaters which made for an incredible day.
