What To Expect

Your tour begins with pickup from your Bratislava hotel in time for a 9am departure (other departure times available on request). Traveling in the comfort of a private vehicle, set out to explore the Carpathian wine route, winding through the foothills of the Small Carpathian Mountains.

Enjoy a glimpse of local life as you pass through villages such as St. Jur, Pezinok, and Modra, and listen as your guide explains the region’s long history of wine production. The first stop of the day is at the Red Stone Castle (Hrad Cerveny Kamen), a former residence of the noble Palffy family and home to Central Europe’s largest wine cellar. Head instead to tour the castle (entrance fees not included), stroll the beautiful gardens, and peek into the wine cellar.

Pause to enjoy lunch (own expense) at a traditional wine cellar restaurant, where you’ll have chance to sample typical Slovak specialties paired with fine Slovak wines. After lunch, pay a visit to Elesko or Karpatska Perla, where you can sample some of Slovakia’s most prestigious wines (wine tasting at extra cost) and learn more about Slovak wine.

Back in Bratislava, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.
