Excellent tour about Bucharest’s dark folklore. Ask for Bogdan.

I chose this tour because folklore really interests me. My guide, Bogdan, really delivered on the description of the tour. It is clear that he is incredibly well versed in the culture, history, and folklore of Bucharest. He is a skilled raconteur with a wonderfully dry sense of humour. The tour had just the right balance of creepy and maybe possible.

Brilliant! I went on this tour on my first full day in the city and it was a great start to my little holiday. The small group size really helped. Our guide, Gabriela, was fantastic. She was enthusiastic and really knowledgeable. I loved hearing all of the stories and getting the history and learning about Bucharest's varied history.

I had hesitated to book this tour, because I assumed it would just be a cheesy tour for people who only know Romania as the setting of Dracula. But Gabriella made it so much more! She explained both the actual history of Vlad the Impaler and the folklore that helped inspire the book. However she also discussed modern funerary and mourning practices, recent political history, shared some spooky and true crime stories, and explained other aspects of Romanian culture. I felt like I got so much more from this tour than I went in expecting.

Gabriella, our tour guide/storyteller did an excellent job, walking us through the streets of Bucharest at night. Wonderful insight to the Romanian folklore and culture. Despite the freezing temperatures, she just went on with gusto and enthusiasm. Just went last week be ready to dress -up extra warm.
