Personable and knowledgeable tour guide!

The fortress was very interesting but we were most impressed by our guide Claudia’s knowledge of the fortress and country of Bulgaria and Romania! She was early for our pick up and was so lovely and personable always keeping our interest and comfort at the forefront! Claudia is an exceptional guide!

A fascinating town with a beautiful church nearby. The drive is a little long but still worth it.

Even though this trip took a few hours from Bucharest to Bulgaria it gave you a good look at the scenery and little towns along the way. We learnt a lot of history of the area on this day trip. Veliko Tarnovo is classified as Bulgaria's own Machu Picchu.

Long driving time - almost 4hrs each way. However, the route including the Bulgarian countryside is mostly scenic. Veliko Tarnova was nice and views were good. Food at local restaurant was good. Guide was pleasant and car provided was comfortable.

We loved our day in Bulgaria. Our guide, Christi, was an excellent host and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our lunch (with an incredible view) was amazing and the vista/climb up to the Tsarevets Fortress was a once in a lifetime experience. We enjoyed the old town shopkeepers and the Arbanasi Church was very special. We would highly recommend this tour.

I booked this tour wishing to see more of the neighbors this beautiful country has, as suggested by my travel agent and I loved every minute of it! Florin is a great tour guide, we made jokes and he offered me some home-made pie his wife made the previous evening! He is very professional and knows a lot about everything. I am not a history lover, but the passionate way he explains everything, made me understand and remember everything! The staff at the company contacted me at the hotel and they explained to me everything step by step, they were very kind to help me with some restaurant suggestions while in Bucharest. The car was clean and had AC, water was provided for the whole trip - it was incredibly hot outside, and Florin suggested for lunch a wonderful restaurant with a view! This trip is really a jem, I would totally recommend it! Must have comfortable shoes, the tour includes some walking! Thank you again, Marie

Our tour guide was amazing! Her name was Claudia and she works for Rolandia Agency. She make you feel like if you were on journey with some friends! All the way to Bulgaria she explained not only the history of both countries but also their costumes, their traditions, their normal life! After the visit to Tsarevets Fortress we had a wonderful lunch on a restaurant chosen by Claudia. Then after some shopping we proceed to Ivanovo to visit the religious caves on the rocks. Very quite and peaceful. At all the tour Claudia felt everything she can to let us feel a unique experience! Ah! Thanks for the tip to our dinner at that day in Bucharest!!

Great guide, tour good

It's a good trip but it's a heck of a long time on the road and we experienced a very slow border crossing in the morning.One of the three places we had booked to see was closed across December, due to the cold weather, so should never have been part of the offer at this time of year. (Our guide did take us to see the outside).Other two places were interesting, well presented by our guide. Our guide for the day, Christi, was very friendly, thoughtful helpful and upbeat and looked after us really well.

Another great tour with this company! I had the luck to have the same tour guide, Christy and he recommended a lovely restaurant in the old town the lunch is not included in the price, by the way which had amazing food! The history is amazing, you get to know so many things about the Bulgarian history during the trip! By the way... Make sure you wear comfortable shoes!!

An interesting tour with breathtaking views! If you are going to Bucharest, defintely recommend a guided private tour to Bulgaria. I found Andrew knowledgeable and funny, providing me interesting details and historical reference for the Veliko Tarnovo which was Bulgaria's old capital.

We went by private car for this, which I highly recommend because the border could be quite long if there is a group going. Our guide Valentine was outstanding!! Being a private tour with just me, my friend and our driver made for a nice leisurely day. Our lunch was by far the best meal I had well on our trip.
