Dear Natalie the family friendly walk is designed around families with young children. Perhaps you personally would have been better suited to the 7.30 Night Tour designed for adults, the extra 30 minutes is taken up in commentary where we talk more indepth about the flora and fauna we see, children have a shorter attention span than many adults.
We are sorry you didn't enjoy our tour however, your statement "did not see any animals" is untrue. We saw 19 species on the 6th Jan including critically endangered tree frogs, the worlds largest web building spiders and 50 million year old reptile species. Whilst some adults aren't interested in insects, from our experience as parents and guides many children are fascinated by them.
Commentary on indigenous culture other than the general knowledge we shared with you is protected by "intellectual rights' legislation and our immense respect for local 'Bama'. There are several excellent Kuku Yalanji tours in the area that speak of the worlds oldest living culture and connection to country.
Whilst leeches & mosquito's are not typical at our location we supply insect repellant and water however, due to our 'Covid' protocols customers need to bring their own containers as stated on the site info.
Once again we are sorry you didn't enjoy your tour even after accomodating your post booking changes and arranging a private tour for your mob, we do hope your child had a more positive experience.
Ian
