      This was a great tour. My mom and I really enjoyed ourselves and we learned a lot about the wall city. Our tour guide Adalberto is amazing. He’s very helpful and really funny. He didn’t miss a beat. He also helped us with our Spanish. I highly recommend this tour with Adalberto. 10/10.

      An excellent guide (and a driver to get to the restaurant) for only three guests. Good pace with interesting and thorough descriptions of history and sites.

      The tour was great we saw some great sights and adalberto was very nice , funny and knowledgeable, the only downside was the car ride to Bazurto market for lunch the drivers car kept shutting off in traffic and the car was small so we weren’t very comfortable. Otherwise the food at the Bazurto market was amazing, I would definitely do it again.

      Rich in history and culture of Cartagena

      Our guide, Adalberto made our experience very special. Adalberto’s knowledge of Cartagena is extensive and he presented it through story telling and lifetime experience. Part of our tour took place in the walled city and the other half in Bazurto, where the many lifelong residents live. Part of our motivation for this tour was to visit Anthony Bordain’s favorite lunch spot in Bazurto. Beware, if you don’t like strong odors this is not the trip for you. We are foodies and loved it. It was important to us to experience the culture inside the walled City and where the “everyday people” live. Adalberto made sure to give us exactly the tour we wanted!

      My brother and I loved this more intimate your of Cartagenas historic areas, lunch at Bazurto Market, and then the colorful neighborhood of Getsemani. Adalberto is an encyclopedia of knowledge, and is a 10th generation Cartagena native. Check out this tour on your next trip!

      Very much enjoyed my tour. Adalberto Gonzalez was like meeting a friend in a foreign city; a friend who knew everything about the city! And we tailored the trip to what I wanted to do and see, as some of the sites I had already explored. We had a lovely couple hour walk in the Old Town of Cartagena and he took me to all the sites I wanted to visit. Adalberto is very knowledgeable about the city, and it was like easy conversation as we walked. His English is excellent, but because I was alone, we were also able to practice my Spanish, for which I was extremely grateful. The tour takes you to Bazurto Market for lunch. The drive there was quite an experience, with Colombian traffic at its height. The market was bustling for lunch, and I enjoyed the fried fish lunch with rice and salad. I chose not to eat the baby shark that was sprinkled across the rice, though! But, the highlight of the tour for me was learning about Cartagena through Adalberto’s eyes. I learned what it’s like to be a local artist (and tour guide) living in Cartagena, with five children and a wife he adores! And, he’s a painter. So when we returned to Plaza San Diego, I was honored to buy a small painting to bring home with me as a memory of our time together. The paining was unsigned, so Adalberto whipped out his paints and signed it. Then touched up his painting just for me! It was a lovely experience and I highly recommend this private tour! But it was Adalberto that made it a special memory for me!

      Adelberto, our guide, was terrific. So friendly and knowledgeable. We got a wonderful tour of the city and a most memorable lunch. As a life long resident of Cartagena, Adelberto was friend or family to a vendor for most anything we could want. This was great when we wanted to shop for coffee and candy and had no idea where to start. Would definitely recommend the tour and Adelberto!!

      You need to know something about Cartagena before you go ... you are GOING TO GET HARRASSED by street vendors ... there is no way around it ... The tour was great! Our tour guide was Adalberto and he was a walking encyclopedia ... and well known local because everyone was saying 'hi' to him! Please not ... on this tour where we went for lunch is not Bourdain's favorite spot ... you walk by it but don't actually eat there ... unless I missed that part of the tour. Also ... Vegans or vegetarians might find it hard to find something to eat on this tour ... something to keep in mind ... Bourdain's favorite place La Cevicheria ... we tried to go back but wasn't opened and we ran out of time. Once the tour was over... Adalberto gracefully took us another stop of interested our group wanted to check out... he didn't guide us but he made sure we got there safely ensured taxis didn't overprice price us. You're lucky if you get Adalberto!

      Fun in the city ... in the Walled City. And in the immortal words of Anthony Bourdain "its almost ludicrous that this place exists and that everybody doesn't want to live here." Adalberto, our guide, was a walking encyclopedia ... very patient, knowledgeable and sweet.

      This tour was very interesting. Adalberto Gonzalez was our tour guide and as a lifelong resident of Cartagena he was very knowledgeable about its history. A humble man that not only was able to converse with us in both English and Spanish, he also kept us entertained and safe at the same time. We were able to enjoy parts of the city that we would not have dared to venture to on our own. He even helped find a souvenir in minutes of us asking that we had spent days trying to locate on our own. Out of 10 stars I would give him 20.

      Alberto was our tour guide. He spoke very good English and was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Cartagena. He was also very flexible and allowed us to shop and investigate stores we had an interest in without rushing us. The market was the highlight!

      Family of four, with two teenagers had an amazing afternoon with Adalberto Gonzalez, our tour guide.. He shared amazing history, knew others around town, great about stopping to grab ice cream or coffee, took his time explaining and answering all our questions.       This is a must do tour while in Cartagena. Our tour guide, Adalberto was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, we never felt rushed throughout the tour and he was also funny. The best part of the tour was going to the market and eating lunch. Anytime my family and I visit different countries a must do is experiencing the authentic culture and food of that particular country and this was the real deal. I highly recommend this experience and hopefully you'll get lucky enough to have Adalberto as your tour guide.
