Important Note: This tour is including hotel pick up – drop off for accessible by cars hotels only (many streets of the old town and the harbor of Chania are having limited vehicle access) in the region of Chania. Clients that are staying in the old town and the Venetian harbor have to meet us in the suitable meeting points (3-5 minutes average walking distance from most of the hotels). The meeting times scheduled according to the hotels’ locations. The pick-up will be from the clients’ hotel (if accessible) on this specific time. For small-group tours, pick-ups from Rethimnon, Heraklion and Lasithi regions are NOT included. * In case of clients’ delay the vehicle cannot wait for more than 10 minutes.

What To Expect

Your morning starts with hotel pickup in the Chania region by air-conditioned minibus or minivan. If you are staying where vehicles have limited access, such as Old Town or the Venetian Harbor, greet your guide at convenient pre-arranged meeting points.

Then, drive through traditional Cretan villages and the mountains of the Kissamos area. Relax as your guide takes care of navigation through the countryside.

Your first stop is the Anoskeli Winery Olive Mill in the picturesque village of Anoskeli, about a 30-minute drive from the center of Chania. After tasing award-winning regional wines and olive oils and touring the vineyards, head to the
the Monumental Olive Tree of Vouves, considered one of the oldest olive trees in the world.

Get back in the coach and head to your last stop: the family-run Manousakis Winery in the village of Vatolakkos. Sample more wine and olive oil on your 1.5 hour visit, and return to your pickup point in Chania.

The company reserves the right to make minor changes in the program when this is considered necessary, for example in case of unfavorable weather conditions. This can be done without prior notice.

Reservations must be made 12 hours before the tour. A cancellation must be done 5 days before the tour for 50% refund. In case of later cancellations, no refund will be made from the company.
If a tour is cancelled due to low participation or bad weather conditions, the company will refund 100% of made payments

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

The olive oil and wine tasting tour was a great way to delve deeper into Cretan culture and connect with their roots. My guide, Thenasi, was knowledgeable, kind, and very accommodating. I would HIGHLY recommend taking the tour with him!! My favorite part was seeing one of the oldest olive trees in the world. Thanks for a great time!

Seeing an ancient Olive tree believed to be 3000-5000 years old was pretty incredible! Visited 2 local wineries and had a short tour through the Olive Oil plant. Very educational, and our guide was great. Andre’s was friendly, very well spoken with a keen knowledge of the area and our wines. We were happy to hear that he’s a sommelier and a local to Chania.

What a great day! Andreas was an excellent guide. Pickup was only minutes from our hotel. You'll learn all about the proud traditions of Crete, and Chania in particular, visit the ancient olive tree of Vouves, and learn all about the process of making olive oil, as well as its MANY uses. A beautiful lunch (get ready to share with the cats!) and plenty of delicious wine. Highly recommend!

A very informative, enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide who is obviously very proud of Cretan produced wine and oil. The tour of the olive mill was great and very interesting. The second winery visit felt a little rushed but enjoyable and they catered for my gluten free diet easily. When a vegan meal was given to my partner they were very quick to offer and bring the cheese pie when he said he is vegetarian. Having been on larger coach trips having a smaller group of people felt more friendly and personal. A great trip.

It was a wonderful day out. Our tour driver was so great. Good at driving no 1 👍entertaining and funny and very informative of olives , olive oil and wine, history and genuinely enjoying himself with us and proud of his homeland Crete.
