FOR PASSENGERS FROM MAINLAND: remember that this activity begins in Cozumel. We recommend arriving at the Playa del Carmen ferry terminal 45 minutes prior to your ferry departure so that you can arrive on time. When you get off the ferry and go out into the street, on the left side you will find a taxi station, when boarding you tell the driver that you are going to Marina Caleta with the sea chivis and you must leave them where we are. The journey by taxi from the ferry terminal to Marina Caleta is approximately 25 minutes. If you do not show up on time, we will not be able to help you and we will not be able to provide you with a refund.
Recommended items: flip flops that can get wet, sunscreen not allowed in this activity due to reef protection, swimsuit under the garments, extra t-shirt to protect yourself from the sun while swimming, a towel and dry clothes to change into.

For our cruise clients who arrive at the port: Puerta Maya and/or SSA MEXICO, they are only 2km (5 minutes by car and 20-25 minutes walking) from the meeting point that is in the marina caleta.
Minimum legal drinking age is 18 years.
Children must be accompanied by an adult to participate in the activity.
In the 2 hour duration of the tour, transportation time is not included.
For Cruise Ship Passengers: This activity follows Cozumel time, which is not always the same as your cruise ship time, keep this in mind

We enjoyed our experience with Chivis del Mar. Barbara and the captain made sure we were safe and taken care of at all times. It's recommended for first-time snorkelers as well as experienced ones.

Barabara and Jose are great operators. Directions from the ship were perfect. It was a $15 fare for two from our port, Punta Langosta. We recommend writing down the marina name for your driver. They made sure we got to visit the two reefs and were very mindful of our safety at all times. We were also able to see a lot through the glass bottom. Barbara also secured a taxi for us to go back within minutes. These two are real sweethearts!

Barbara and Jose are wonderful hosts! We were the only couple on the trip and the boat set sail on time. The boat was clean and Barbara gave us safety prep. We visited 2 reef and both had plenty of fish. Barbara dived down and pointed out sea creatures for us from time to time. Best experience!

We had a wonderful time! Great directions on how to navigate the marina once you arrive. We had everything in place and my suggestion is to look for the name of the boat "Chivis Del Mar" and you will find it. Don't just go into any boat without verifying it's the tour you booked because a bunch of tours are going on. This particular tour is just like they said more intimate and fun. Family owned business and super kind! They provided water, beer, and soda. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided us with all the gear we needed. This tour was perfect for our group of 9! Happy to support a local hardworking business. Skip the other tours and go with this one! You will be satisfied!

Barbara and Jose were so nice and knowledgeable of the reefs and the area, friendly and fun!! I felt like I was on a boat with some friends :) Barbara took underwater pics of me with her go pro which was amazing I feel like the fish are attracted to her lol! They also supplied fruit in the end which was lovely, would recommend!!

We booked this kind of on the fly, but what a treat. We ended up getting our own little private snorkel tour since it was only my girlfriend and I for our time slot. We saw all sorts of amazing fish, wildlife, and a massive stingray. Our guide was knowledgeable and very fun to be with. Highly recommend. We felt it was very authentic and glad we chose this tour over a crowded tourist tour.

Barbara and Jose are Cozumel locals and were the best at hosting our snorkeling experience! It is a smaller operation which is ideal for 2-3 couples or families of 4-6 people that do NOT want a party boat with loud music and crazy tourists. The price was great, we felt safe, the loaned snorkel equipment was in very good shape, and we enjoyed the laid-back experience. Barbara is an expert snorkeler, guide, and underwater photographer. The fresh fruit they surprised us with was delicious and cold drinks were plentiful! The 2 hour trip was a definite highlight of our Cozumel vacation. Support local, save costs, and make memories!!

Great excursion

This excursion was great! So much fun seeing all of the different fish and even a starfish! The pineapple was super yummy and we enjoyed having a couple of beers as we went from one reef to the next. Would definitely recommend this trip!

Barbara and Jose were very friendly and we were made comfortable straight away. They explained where we would go and what we would do. We snorkeled twice and saw some beautiful fish. It was a fantastic experience. They also gave us a snack and drink.
