What To Expect

Disembark your cruise ship and greet your guide at the shore of Cozumel’s shimmering Caribbean Sea. After an informative safety explanation, fit your mini-SUB gear and plunge into the iridescent waters of the ocean. A mini-SUB is a high-tech device that allows you to breathe normally underwater without the use of a mask or tube.

Follow your guide by driving your underwater scooter through the water, directing your gaze to magnificent marine life; observe parrotfish, manta rays, garden eels, and colorful corals as you glide through the sea. Marvel at the tropical tableau of fish before returning to the sandy shores to relax upon the blissful beach.

Conclude your submerged shore excursion with a refreshing juice or classic cocktail from a nearby restaurant (own expense) before making your own way back to your cruise ship port.

Worry-Free Shore Excursion: We will ensure your timely return to the Cozumel port for this activity. In the rare event your ship has departed, we will arrange for transportation to the next port-of-call. If your ship is delayed and you are unable to attend this activity, your money will be refunded. Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Awesome easy underwater experience

This was an amazingly safe and easy way to experience underwater life. The staff was great at easing fears. It did not require any swimming, just a quick duck of the head under the water and into the air filled helmet. The digital pictures were well worth the price.

The absolute BEST EXCURSION WE'VE EVER BEEN ON!! The instructors were excellent, the sealife was beyond words PHENOMENAL AND AMAZING!! We loved being able to hold and feed the beautiful fish and the puffer fish had quite the personality!! Would definitely do again and encourage others to experience this BEAUTIFUL excursion!!

Our guide and his team were amazing. They explained everything very well and the adventure went very smoothly. We got to see and do everything we were told. The pictures and videos were amazing and well worth the fee for having someone follow you and get everything on camera. The use of the resort afterwards was a great bonus. We had drinks and sat on the beach then went swimming in the tidal pool. Our only regret was that we didn’t bring our snorkeling gear. We highly recommend this tour and the crew. Don’t be hesitant because it’s not through the cruise lines, these guys will take care of you in every way.

What a great time. Alfonso and the staff did a amazing job of taking care of us from beginning to the end. Informative and friendly. Stayed with us in the water as we had fish and marine life all around us. This is one of the reasons we book with Viator rather than the cruise ship. Will definitely do this one again.🏆

Although we booked this several weeks in advance, we were very disappointed with the experience. The website listed weight and age restrictions, along with pregnancy. That wasn’t a problem. We paid for transport the five location, paid to rent a locker (it was not provided), only to find out that, because I am a diabetic (fully controlled type 2), I could not use the mini-sub. There was absolutely NO MEDICAL READING to refuse other than “our insurance doesn’t allow it”. They refused to refund our money (“talk to Viator”) or refund the locker rental; they offered no help other than “sorry”. Resolved the excursion charge with my credit card company. VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE!

It was a unique experience. The divers and guide were very good and accommodating. We were able to go up at any moment we wanted if we didn’t feel comfortable. Was rather short for the cost, but was good while it lasted. We were underwater for around 25 minutes. They found several things for us to see and hold. Good experience. They took photos and videos for $70. Glad we did it once…

Great Excursion accommodating and friendly group.

They were very welcoming and accommodating. We were running behind because of a glitch that happened with my phone. I had it setup to not auto update timezones and set for both central and eastern time and something happened that shifted both times back 1hr. Halfway through lunch I noticed it changed and immediately called them. They told us and to come on and they would make it work and that they did under no obligation to do so as it was on me we were late. Awesome set of guys made sure it was enjoyable and that my wife and her friend had a great time I would highly recommend. The only negative was with the locker rental. The excursion Mini-Sub company is not responsible for the locker rentals you rent from the Hotel which is unconnected to the excursion that said Viator site shows with a locker rental you are provided a towel. This is not the case. My wife and friend after a little bit of pushing got them to tell where the towels are but did so begrudgingly saying the towels are only for Hotel guests. I recommend making sure you bring your own towel.

Fantastic experience for one of us

I had a great time. I was able to hold a starfish, sea urchin, yellow stingray, sea spiders, etc. When my husband got in, he couldn’t stay. He’s a bigger guy with wide shoulders and he felt like the helmet was pushing him down. So he got back out. Since I’m shorter I didn’t get that feeling. I didn’t know until I came back up. It was fabulous but wish my husband could have done it too. Crew was wonderful. Very patient and accommodating.
