Gary has a keen interest in the bombing and brought it to life with quirky stories including his fathers involvement.

What really happened.
IANH_H, Jul 2022
Greg's knowledge of people's personal experience during and after the bombing was exceptional. It put a different light on the bombing rather than just facts and figures.
This tour should be mandatory for all school kids in Australia, history that is only brushed over in our education.
Great tour.
Response from Host, Sep 2022
Thankyou Ianh
Japanese war jokes are getting old. They just don’t stop coming… like their bombs on Darwin.
Kristy_W, Jul 2022
Garry really knew his stuff. The tour was informative and he shared some great stories. Really got us thinking… what happened to Harold Holt? lol
Response from Host, Sep 2022
Thanks Kristy. What DID happen to Harold? :)

The commentary and story telling on this trip by Gary was supurb. We were taken back in time and given insights into events that have been largely covered up or unpublished. Recommended for every Australian and history buff.
Awesome Tour

Everything about this...
BROOKE_B, May 2022
Everything about this tour was well organized, pick up/drop off on time, and very informative. But the best part of the tour was our driver & tour guide Garry, who not only has a wealth of knowledge on the area and its history, but had all the stories that you don’t find in the history books. He made this is an experience to remember, and I highly recommend this tour.
What about Darwin?
Rowena_T, May 2022
Guides explanation completed the puzzle of the history and timeline for this significant event.
Humour was an added bonus!
Great experience.

Fantastic tour - would go again and recommend to friends. Garry was an excellent guide, full of stories (about the bombing & other bits). He made every effort to engage with the group and made sure we were all involved in the conversation. He knew his stuff - loads of facts shared, always kept it interesting and made sure it was 'fun'. Learnt loads and had an amazing time.
Thanks Garry - you were awesome

Garry provided accurate, interesting and entertaining commentary, and the tour gave a good understanding of the history. It was much more than just a history though. Well worth doing.
Well worthwhile

A very enjoyable and interesting morning. Gary provided info we'd never heard before in an easy humorous way. Very worthwhile
Enlightening and entertaining
Stephen_J, May 2021
Gary was very entertaining with many stories to share; some true and some speculative. His knowledge of the bombing was quite extensive and he told us facts that we were not aware of. i.e. the sunken Japanese submarine in the harbor, the Brisbane Adelaide line. I won't say anymore as it would spoil his narrative. Gary wrote a book which is available for purchase and I can't wait to give it a read. I would not think that many people know the full story of the bombings but I think Gary's knowledge comes pretty close. He shares his theories around the submarine, the sinking of the Sydney and Harold Holt. Lots of laughs and he is what I would call a true blue aussie. I think a lot of school age children and adults alike could learn a lot from this man. Definitely worth taking this tour.
Don’t miss tour
