What To Expect

Depending on which departure time you select, your nighttime tour will start at 7pm or 9pm sharp, but you’ll want to check in a half-hour before it begins at the lobby of the Holiday Inn's Smokey Mountain Resort in Gatlinburg. From there, you’ll take a stroll down some of the spookiest streets in Gatlinburg.

On this 1-mile walking tour, learn the haunted history behind every ghostly stop of the journey from your guide. Get to know a few of the ghosts by name, and follow the same path some of them walked before they became ghosts. Take a peek at photographs other visitors snapped of sinister occurrences (such as floating orbs and apparitions) they couldn’t explain, and decide for yourself what to believe.

At the end of your tour, you’ll get a chance to track down spirits with actual ghost-hunting equipment. Not to mention, there’s always the possibility of communicating with some spirits, too.

Fun and exciting
David_P, Apr 2024
The stories and storytelling were exciting and entertaining. Enjoyed all of the ghost hunting equipment. I appreciated our guide keeping us safe after a bear was spotted!
Simple informative ghost tour
Anonymous, Dec 2023
This ghost tour had interesting stories and was easy to walk. The guide was passionate and very nice. The pictures shown during the tour were impressive. I wish there was more history about Gatlinburg included. I was hoping to go to a cemetery or get closer to some of the buildings. Overall, it was a nice walk while hearing creepy accounts of the area.
Response from Host, Dec 2023
Unfortunately, the city doesent allow us to take guests to the cemetery. I hope you enjoyed the rest of the tour however.
Very informative and spooky
Antonio_I, Nov 2023
The tour guide (forgot his name but had a cane) was very informative and passionate. He also had pictures, videos, and devices for us to use to detect paranormal activity. I would definitely recommend him and this tour to anyone who is into this who comes to Gatlinburg.
Response from Host, Dec 2023
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great Tour
Robert_H, Nov 2023
My wife and I had a great time. Our guide knew the history, and even provided some back story to the spots that we visited. Definitely worth the money, and we will be scheduling another tour in the Spring.
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Look forward to seeing you again!
A great addition to the itinerary, even for the history
Kallie_H, Nov 2023
We had a great time with our tour guide and I appreciated the passion he had for the paranormal. You could tell he was just as excited as we were to learn more, despite he probably has told the stories over and over again, he still was genuinely enthusiastic. Loved using the equipment too!

Very happy you had a great time!

Entertaining stories and history of the town. A nice walk and good vibes. Nice tour guide. Loved the cat lady story. Detailed pictures of previous ghost experiences. I'd definitely would try again

Jane_G, Oct 2023
Eric is a wonderful guide. He was a great story teller. Kept our interest the whole tour. Answered questions. Great time.

Fun stories but nothing happened
Caleb_O, Sep 2023
While the tour was informative it was a lot of walking for nothing. we didn't really see or hear anything just the guy talking and the group walking around stops looking like a bunch of weirdos in parking with cheap "ghost hunting tools". we were handed an emf thingy and I could set it off by turning side to side or accidentally taping it. One of the couples was handed a music box thingy and it just kept going off even when we weren't by the ghosty areas. I don't know why we paid $30 a person for this tour and then we were asked to give a tip why not just include it in the price.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
I am glad you liked the stories, all ghost hunting equipment can be spoofed or give false positives depending on what you’re doing. Why do you pay 30 for dinner and give a tip to your waitress? Same thing.
What an awesome tour!
Kellie_C, Sep 2023
Pete, our guide, was very knowledgeable on everything Paranormal. He took extra time afterwards and discussed some of my daughter's experiences as well as looked at some pictures she took.
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Glad you had fun!

Scott_G, Sep 2023
Was told to check in at holiday inn. Went there but no one was there. Someone said they usually meet at pancake house porch. Our party and one other party waited 10 minutes before group of people came from back of restaurant so we joined them. Went to check in and we’re told we were late, but was no big deal. We didn’t get any handheld meters since they were all given out. The tour guide was awesome. Very nice and knowledgeable. Good sense of humor. There was definitely room for improvement on communication to guests on where to meet should be improved.
Response from Host, Sep 2023
Who told you to check in at the holiday inn? No one with our company. I am sorry you were steered wrong by someone else
Very disappointing
Timothy_G, Aug 2023
The idea of this was awesome. Some of the stories that were told could have been good as well. We were scheduled for a Saturday night as that worked the best for us. We got moved to Sunday because they didn’t have enough people. Only 4 total people there on Sunday and the other two said they had been moved as well. Aric just didn’t do a great job at integrating everything. The “devices” we used were cheap and cheesy. Overall, we were

Matthew_M, Aug 2023
We heard some interesting stories from Gatlinburg's history and Aric, the tour guide, was pretty cool.
Response from Host, Sep 2023
Very happy you enjoyed it.
Sporadic, and underwhelming
Alex_S, Aug 2023
The guide was not a great storyteller. The stories he told were long and unrelated to the next one. ..
Response from Host, Sep 2023
Yes as often happens each place we stop have individual stories and histories. They are not all related other than they all happened in Gatlinburg’s past
Not at all what we were hoping for
Elana_S, Aug 2023
Not at all what we were expecting. Unless you are a true believer in ghosts, and want to play “Ghostbusters” you should probably skip this. No real storytelling, no history, no sightseeing. Just walking around hotel parking lots and trying to find ghosts with “ghost meters”. Very silly and disappointing.
Response from Host, Sep 2023
Hmmm, we tell quite a few stories of Gatlinburgs past, I am not sure what you mean?
We enjoyed the evening.
Carmen_S, Aug 2023
Cathy was a good story teller. We found it very interesting. The orientation was long winded and overly dramatic. But once she actually got to the tour it was fine. Could have done in 90 minutes , not 120, and would have been better in my view.
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Glad you enjoyed it
Super cool
Adrienne_F, Aug 2023
I was unable to add some really good pictures of anomalies:( but it was super cool looking back at the pictures.
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Happy you enjoyed it!
