    Very disappointed…

    I was looking forward to this tour because they are difficult to find and schedule. The operator contacted me twice to change the time of the tour. Unfortunately the group that made up all of the other tour members requested some of the tour to be in Spanish - when the tour was booked as English speaking. I don’t speak Spanish or Italian so this was extremely disappointing. I missed much of what was shared and one of the other group members monopolized the tour guide’s time… mostly in Spanish. Even though the guide was clearly a nice person and trying to accommodate the large group, I felt pretty left out as the only person who couldn’t understand what was being said. I consider this a waste of money and time. While this was the biggest issue, it definitely wasn’t the only one. The tour guide had no means of amplifying his voice or earpieces for tour members to use so they could look at the sights and still hear the tour guide - not that I would have understood the parts in Spanish, but I might have picked up a few details. Overall, I found this tour to be unprofessionally conducted on multiple levels.

    Dear customer, We are very sorry you did not have a good experience with our walking tour. We only offer the tour in English but the other participants basically forced our guide to do the tour in Italian and he could not deny. We been having some problem with the start time, not because we wanted to have a large group in a time slot, but because our guide now is available at a different time and you booked before we changed the schedule. We sincerely apologize because we didn't performed in the best way with you.

    Antonio is a great host to this city. Showed us around and was always ready to answer any questins we had. Great tour to get to know the main sights.

    The tour with Antonio in the old town was really nice. He was very proactive in the communication and easy to find. Antonio was knowledgeable about Genoa and replied to all our questions. It is easy to get lost in the narrow streets and miss hidden gems so having a guide is definitely a plus. I would totally recommend it!

    Would rated a zero as the walking tour never happened! We were given directions to meet Antonio at the fountain at Piazza de Ferrari and Genoa. Five of us cruise passengers walked around the fountain and asked everybody we could see if they were Antonio. We were there a half hour prior to the meeting time and stayed for an hour after searching everybody Around the fountain, the steps and everywhere but no Antonio was there! After several messages left on his voicemail and text messages and contacting the tour operator, we were told that Antonio could not wait for us and that he had left us several messages on WhatsApp.. we were never instructed to download WhatsApp. Antonio did not have a flag stating Viator walking tour guide. Antonio did not have a bad job that we could see because we checked every male person that ever came near the fountain! He never walked around to ask our group if we were with his tour. He simply made no effort to find all five of us cruise passengers for the tour.! Screwed over by Viator local guides twice in one week

    Hi Debra! We are sorry at the end the tour could not be delivered. Antonio was at the meeting point and a proof of that is that another 2 travelers from Viator did the tour with us. We anyways apologize and from now Antonio wears a black cap to be easily recognized.

    Antonio is an excellent guide. He managed to provide us with a lot of interesting information about Genoa’s history, culture, cuisine and its emblematic personalities.

    Genoa was amazing and Antonio explained all this history of the city very well. Great points of interest and amazing history.
