Wonderful hike

Enjoyable drive to the crater from downtown Waikiki. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. The hike its self was beautiful but if you don’t like uneven surfaces this might not be the tour for you. About a quarter of the route is paved sidewalk with the remainder smooth rock.

Definitely recommend this hike. It was challenging enough and gorgeous views from the top. This transportation worked out great for us. It included the price into then park, easy drop off and pick. They also provided water.

Essentially, this is a convenient transport and entrance bundle which makes it super easy to get there from the Waikiki hotel area without a car. A bonus was our driver Matthew, who gave nice commentary along the way and showed us interest points(and he was very friendly and humorous as well!). We had two hours from drop off until pick up and this was plenty of time. The only improvement I would say is to call out what kind of vehicle to look for since it was plain and had no company logo on it like the other tour companies. It took me a few minutes to realize it was there to pick me up.

The views are breathtaking. My 72 year old husband made the trek to the top. It is paved for a portion but eventually the pavement ends and the terrain becomes rocky & uneven, there are approximately 100 steps toward the end. Husband said it was worth the climb, but he was glad he had been doing some walking on a regular basis to prepare for the hike. Our shuttle driver Adam was kind & friendly.

Was a nice hike up. Has changed since the last time I was there 15 years ago. It’s not a hard hike really. But any mobility issues you wouldn’t be able to do this. I would say it 5-10 difficulty. Also took about 40 min there and back maybe less. And we just walked it normal speed.

Matthew our driver was a great tour guide, made it fun while driving updating us with a bit of History and current activities going on in the island. Very convenient for visitors like us with no rental car. We were dropped of and picked up at a very convenient location. Thumbs up.

Fabulous hike with breathtaking views. This is a MUST see if you are in Waikiki, Hawaii. The hike is steep and narrow in parts, and rocky. If you take your time, it’s not bad and there are plenty of resting spots on the way up. Takes about 30 mins to walk up, quick to walk down.
