What To Expect

Start your Hyderabad excursion with a morning pickup from your hotel. You’ll continue to your day’s first stop, at the Golconda Fort.

Take advantage of the morning’s cooler temperatures as you scale the 360 steps of this medieval structure. You’ll then continue on a short trip of 7 miles (12 kilometers) outside the city center to visit the Warangal Fort, a site which was once part of India’s Kakatiya Dynasty that dates back to the 12th century.

Head back to Hyderabad’s city center to enjoy time for lunch (at your own expense). Locals often recommend visitors try out the city’s famous ‘biryani,’ a dish featuring basmati rice, meat, yogurt, onions, and various spices. You’ll continue after your meal break with a visit to The Charminar, a city monument designed in the Qutub Shahi architectural style that’s known as one of the most famous sights in India. You can also climb the monument’s narrow steps to enjoy a sky-high view of the city below.

Proceed next to Laad Bazaar Street, a shopping area offering everything from bangles to bridal accessories to ‘attar’ (essential oil) and antiques. You’ll end the day with a stop at the Mecca Masjid, one of the oldest mosques in town, before receiving a drop-off back at your hotel.

Great tour of Hyderabad but only 5 hours
Richard_M, Mar 2024
After failing to navigate myself around the attractions of Hyderabad I decided to book a tour. It was definitely the right choice, I was collected from the hotel at 9am and given lots of information on the history of Hyderabad and of the attractions we saw. I would never have learnt all that if I had gone on my own. I've only given 4 stars as I was back in the hotel by 2pm so not exactly the 'full day' I paid for. I think it was because I said I didn't want to go to shops and have the hard sell of souvenirs. Looking back at the description I've realised I didn't see everything listed, I didn't get to Mecca Masjid for example.
Day tour in Hyderabad - Great trip guided by Mohan.
Oded_Z, Jan 2024
Great trip guided by Mohan! For about eight hours, Mohan led me through the various attractions of Hyderabad, through the layers of history, through the various religions, cultures and special foods that the city is known for. Mohan combines vast knowledge, with a wonderful sense of humor and a great desire to help and adapt the trip to personal needs. Excellent! Abu, the driver, was punctual, and led us carefully and safely. In conclusion - a great trip - highly recommended!
Good tour, don't let them take you shopping
Stan_K, Dec 2023
We were picked up on time from our hotel in a nice clean car. Our driver never really spoke to us but he seemed very nice and drove safely and calmly through the madness that is the Hyderabad roads. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, spoke very good English and had a talent for storytelling and thorough knowledge of history. First stop was Golconda Fort, which we climbed to the top of at a very gentle pace and received a good narrative of the history. Next were the Qutub Shahi Tombs, also very good pace and history presentation. It was in the middle of the day and blistering hot, don't forget to wear sunscreen. They did have water in the car. Then we took a long but interesting drive and went to Laad Bazar and Charminar - absolute madness and oh so dirty. We were asked if we wanted time to shop for bangles but declined. Then the highlight of the tour - right by Charminar, there is the Nimrah Cafe and Bakery. We were led to the back, where the cookies are baked and had water, chai and fresh hot cookies with the owner. Absolutely fantastic experience. They have two kinds of gluten-free dairy-free cookies - a coconut macaroon (divine when hot) with a maraschino cherry on top and on oat cookie. If you are dairy-free, ask for the chai black. We're then saw how they make the chai too and bought some fresh cookies. The bakery experience alone was worth the whole trip. There was a pearl store not 5 minutes away i wanted to go to and was told they'd take me to a better one. That was a mistake, i should have insisted to go because i never got the chance to return even though when i said okay we'll go to it on the way back to the car, i was not corrected that the car will pick us up elsewhere. We walked to Chowmahalla Palace and got a good history lesson there. It's a very impressive even though somewhat run down estate. Entry fee for foreigner is more than for locals and is not included in the tour. Then the not so great part. We were driven to a two story souvenir store. A very nice one but super overpriced - trinkets, pashminas, carpet, some silver jewelry - the salesman were way way too pushy and it just felt icky. They served us saffron tea but the whole thing felt wrong, we were a captive audience and the tour guide did nothing when they got too pushy or help us negotiate, guess they have an understanding. I was able to bargain down for a nice scarf but it was still way too expensive and i shouldn't have bought it. I just wanted to leave. Then we were taken to a pearl store nearby which i assume has the same arrangement with the tour people and i quickly said no and left. I showed the guide what i wanted at the start of the day and it was very specific to the store i wanted to go by Charminar and he still convinced me that the other store will be better and with better prices. This "shopping" part soured the whole experience. We were initially told they can drop us off anywhere we like at the end of the day, and when we asked to be taken back to Charminar, they said no. Understandably so, it would have been a long drive back but then just don't promise to be flexible on dropoff if you won't be. When we were getting out if the car, we noted the shopping was not a good experience and we're told "but it was optional". Bottom line: the tour is great, the tour guide and driver are very good. Just up front say no to being taken shopping with their people, and if you want a detour, insist.
Excellent tour of major attractions and history of Haderybad
Bin_W, Dec 2023
Excellent tour of major attractions and history of Haderybad. Our tour guide Srinu is very knowledgeable and gave us very detailed history of the city. We visited the major attractions and highly recommend.
Fantastic guide simplifies complex religious history of area
Liz_S, Sep 2023
The beauty of the fort is amazing and Srinu filled us in on the history. Successful fort built by very clever hard working people. Tales of amazing acoustics. Tombs felt very sacred space to many still living in area. City centre vibrant and trip up tower so ama zing
Great experience
Turki_A, Sep 2023
Great tour with Kumar, it allows you to see most of the attractions in Hyderabad. It will be great if Chowmahalla Palace was included in the tour
Informative and entertaining
Tim_J, Jul 2023
Kumar was very knowledgeable and engaging. I loved hearing the stories about how the city was founded and in events in its past.
A great tour even in the rain
Michael_R, Jul 2023
My wife really enjoyed our tour of Hyderabad. The monsoon season was in full swing and it rained all day but we pressed on with our tour guide and driver. We modified some of the elements of the tour such as the climb to the top of Golkonda Fort but we were able to see everything we wanted and then some. Our guide chose a good place for our lunch - Paradise Biryani - which worked well for my wife's food restrictions. She also adjusted the tour to account for the rain and our needs. I always recommend making your requirements known to the tour operators before the tour so that they have time to adjust. This agency did that well. In retrospect I would have brought a bigger umbrella for me but other then that there isn't much I would have changed.
Hyderabad day tour
Peter_M, Jun 2023
I had a great time. Srinu was a phenomenal tour guide. Very knowledgeable. I’ll be recommending him to other folks I know who are visiting Hyderabad
Loved this tour - highlight of our trip!
Laura_R, May 2023
We had a great time with our guide Kumar on this tour last week. It was HOT (100+ degrees!) but that didn't stop us from seeing & enjoying all Hyderabad had to offer. The company and guide were great when we had to switch up our tour date. Because this was a private tour, we also had a fair amount of flexibility to spend more or less time on the different areas we were most interested in. We would absolutely recommend!

Srinu was very knowledgeable tour guide. Golconda and the Chai shop were the best parts of the experience
Super knowledgeable guide...
Andrew_S, Mar 2023
Super knowledgeable guide who provided a well orchestrated tour of key cultural spots in Hyderabad. The only negative was the hard sell tactics at the craft shop store toward the end of the tour.

Hire Mohan!
Xin_W, Jan 2023
Mohan curated a wonderful experience for me in Hyderabad, after the 10 hours trip, I not only went to all of the cool spots in the city, but also felt that I learned so much of the history, religion, society and lives here, all thanks to Mohan’s amazing skills. Highly recommend him!
Hyderbad is a city with many facets
Kiran_V, Dec 2022
Hyderbad is a city with many facets... romance, pearls, Shahs, Nizams, and more. According to Mr. Srini, the pleasant and knowledgeable guide. Took me to all the important spots in Hyderabad and explained everything I needed to know to get a quick but thorough understanding of why and how Hyderabad is what it is. He will also point out locations for you to shoot from as a curious photographer that I am. A significant advantage. We finished with chai and pastries from the famous Nimrah Bakery, where he got us exclusive access to the kitchen and its owner Mr. Aslam, who gave me a warm welcome and the best of Hyderabad's fresh snacks, as well as a hospitality to match. A must-see for anyone visiting Hyderabad.
Response from Host, Dec 2022
Thanks, Mr Kiran, we are delighted that you have thoroughly enjoyed your visit to Hyderabad. It's very important on our part to see that you get as much as close to the insights of what you see. Look forward to seeing you again. Regards. Ranga Reddy owner Garuda Tourism +919849028399 Hyderabad
All the popular sights in Hyd!
Dori_L, Oct 2022
If you only have a day or two in Hyderabad, this is definitely the tour for you. All the popular sights are jam-packed (in a good way) in a day. Karuna was an excellent guide, and was sure to take pics of me at every place we went, since I was traveling solo. He's really smart and very personable. Apu was an excellent driver in the crazy streets of Hyd! I felt safe. I didn't give the full 5 stars because of the shops we stopped at - I was pushed to buy products I didn't want or need, and it was uncomfortable. If you don't need to do any shopping, be sure to specify that beforehand... but if you are down to shop and perhaps haggle for a bargain, then it's definitely a stop to make. Karuna helped me to haggle at the shops that I was really into (not the expensive ones!). All-in-all, a great excursion :)
Very good
Ludovic_B, Oct 2022
Very good visit of the fort and the thumb. Chaim at was difficult to visit as too crowded! Unnecessary visits of pearls and furniture shops despite having ask to not go to the guide
Amazing Hyderabad!
Linda_C, Sep 2022
I had a wonderful experience with a personal tour guide, Mr. Srinu. He was an excellent guide and was very knowledgeable about Hyderabad giving me the history and taking me to see some of the best sights. He definitely made the day an enjoyable and memorable experience. Loved the entire day! Thank you!
Response from Host, Sep 2022
Many Thanks, for your kind words and glad to know your experience of visiting the various places in Hyderabad. We will definitely live upto the clients expectations in future also.
Rich and beautiful history from a guide who deeply loves to share it
Alex_H, Jun 2022
My guide Srinu Arvapalli was excellent, I highly recommend him. He told great stories about the history of the city and the fort and tombs. He's educated in archeology and has had lots of experience working on documentaries and books so he knows all sorts of details and historical facts about the country and city. He has been doing this for more than two decades so everyone knows him and he can get you in to back rooms or have people show you demonstrations. His pride in his country really shines through. I love cooking and he has even offered to share recipes with me!
Response from Host, Jul 2022
Many Thanks for the excellent feedback. we shall further strive to make more experiential tours in our area.

The tour was great and Mr Kumar made it even better. He kept feeding us with the right info, never too much but enough to keep us engaged. I would recommend him to everyone who is on a lookout for a guide in Hyderabad, since it is tough to get better than him.
