our guide was veryvgood in providing the history of Artemis, House of Mama Mary and the ruins in Ephesus. in addition, great decision to change our buffet lunch to a nicer alacarte restaurant which provided excellent food.

The tour was Great! The van that took us was very comfortable and our guide, Milike, really knew the historic facts and gave us a lot of information about Ephesus and the house of Virgin Mary. She accompanied us through the whole place! There was also a visit to a carpet factory and I was really impressed by how they make everything manually. It was also a very interesting visit! We also loved visiting the village of Sirince, which is lovely, and we were able to taste some different wines! The lunch place was delicious!
Best decision in Izmir- perfect day tour for a family of 5.

We had an amazing tour! It was super convenient for us as a family of 5 (with 3 kids 11 and under), with a hotel pickup at Izmir. Our tour guide, Mel, was wonderful and one of a kind. She’s locally from the area, proud of her heritage and fun to ta talk to, and very well-educated on Turkish history. We learned so much visiting the House of Virgin Mary, Temple of Artemis and of course Ephesus. The side trips were welcome as well- with an overview of Turkish olive oils, sweets and carpet-making. Lunch was amazing, having homemade food at a wonderful restaurant, and we had a perfect capper visiting a delightful village known for its wines. Truly a memorable experience that we all enjoyed!

I booked a tour online simply based on reviews for the first time as we had limited time in Izmir. I was apprehensive about the whole thing but the tour was great and our guide Melike was lovely and informative. The pickup from the hotel was prompt and on schedule. The vehicle was comfortable and in great condition and the lunch - simple fare but good. We enjoyed the visit to the ruins with Library of Celsius being the highlight. The wine tasting in Sirince village and a bonus stop at a handmade carpet making facility to see the art at work was great although that left me a little lighter in my pocket! Overall - an experience worth every penny.
Historical Ephesus

Ephesus is an amazing destination. The day also included Virgin Mary's house, which was interesting, and a village visit that was a bit touristy. Lunch was very good but the part where we had to sit through a carpet sales pitch afterwards took too much time and felt awkward to sit through as we had no interest in buying.

Ephesus was an incredible experience with Apasas Tours. The guide shared incredible knowledge about the ancient city, the lunch was a small local weaving school which was great. Don't expect too much from the temple of Artemis since it's just one tower still standing. The town of sinice has some interesting architecture and some interesting local stores.

The best tour I had in Izmir! Our guide was so knowledgeable and passionate about the culture and history. He was so helpful and warm hearted. The tour itself was well organised and we spent a descent time in Ephesus ancient city and learnt a lot! Definitely recommending this tour.

The driver destroyed everything good that could happen. The guide was good, the rest of the assistants really lovely, but this man driving really badly, and being particularly rude to me when I was kindly trying to ask him for a favor (which he didn't understand because he didn't speak NO English), after what he was rude, he yelled at me, and left me lying where he wanted, without cooperating with my request...

I loved the tour and the guide was very good and informative. However the Ephesus tour should have been atleast 3 hrs and should have included terraced housed of wealthy people.

Oh. My. Guide! Nazim, our guide was such a blast. He was funny and made history more interesting than one could ever imagine. It was a tour that took much of the day so wear comfy shoes. We had lunch at a local spot and there was more than enough food to eat- were vegetarian and they were accommodating with food as well. We went to a local town for wine tasting/ice cream & shopping.Thank you Nazim for being the best guide ever!
More time at Ephesus please

Great guide who was attentive, answered questions and was knowledgeable Limited our time in Ephesus and took us to a carpet seller …lots of time that we could have spent as free time at the site Then an olive oil seller… finally a very short time in Sirice which was much more interesting and pleasant

Our guide, Nissizan , was punctual. He was very good with our young kids. Often explaining many times in a kid friendly way. Super knowledgeable. Loved our tour of Ephesus and the Virgin Mary house. The Sirence village was also cute. Overall very professional experience!
Disappointing tour, half of the tour is going to various shops and about selling products

I am very disppointed with this tour and our tour guide for various reasons. First, I have message this company requesting if we can be rescheduled on next day as my partner sprained her left foot; it was swelling and she can barely walk. However no one responded on our message, not even a response of saying if not possible. We ended up joining the tour and my partner did what she can to keep up with the activities. Second, I feel we are rushed going to various activities and I thought the tour guide is just concern that there will be a flock of tourists arriving but later on I discovered he is rushing us because he plans to bring us to a ton of shop for selling product which I will discuss shortly in more details. By noontime we are already 75% complete the tour as we already finished visiting Meryemana, Ancient City of Ephesus, and Temple of Artemis. This leads to my third disappointment that at the most important and crucial part of this tour City of Ephesus, at the Library we were only given 10-15 mins to explore and take photos. When I look at my photos I do not have enough photos taken on this tour because we are always being rushed on every activity, but we were never rushed on shops. This is unacceptable because this is the highlight of the tour and we spent like total of 3 hours going on different shops for selling which I don’t see on the list of activities on this tour. The tour guide brought us to several shops atleast 4 that I can remember: one selling turkish delights; another one selling carpets and jewelries; another one selling leather jackets and fake Chanel, Hermes etc bags; and lastly wine tasting and Demetrius of Ephesus Troy in Sirince. I feel like we have wasted so much time. Fourth and last, I find the tour guide unprofessional and lacks care. He knows exactly that my partner has sprained foot and he knows she was not able to climb some areas in Ephesus, but she never provided any warning on the next activities if there are steep walkways so she can decide if she’ll just stay in the van. There are many steep walkways in Sirince and my partner still hike the area because there was no warning provided, her foot ended up even more swollen after this tour. I also do not like that he commented very unprofessional that pictures are not allowed on the leather jacket shop because it may be copied by Chinese, but to my surprise what they’re selling are knock off leather goods (jackets, bags, SLG’s) with brands of Chanel, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Gucci and a lot more. This tour guide has been kidding me! I hope Viator will look on this matter.
A great glimpse into Antiquity

Ephesus is truly one of the most impressive and well preserved sites of Antiquity. The original Hellenic site and its Roman enhancements demonstrate the greatness of these ancient civilizations. Our tour guide was well read in history, as are we, and his passion for sharing the majesty of the site and his excitement over the ongoing archeological work were great accompaniments to our experience.

The tour was really great - our tour guide Nizam was super fun and entertaining and made the whole tour very enjoyable. The driver was also very nice and friendly. The whole tour was interesting, we got to make a lot of fun stops along the way and it was just a really fun day overall!!
