Visit worth it, but tour maybe not so much
JoseHiginio_G, Oct 2019
Pamukkale is a place completely worth seeing and this tour had many advantages we were looking for such as the transportation from Izmir to Pamukkale itself but there were many things I was not fond of. First was that the very fast drive was harsh given all the curves of the road making us dizzy. Once we arrived we were to have 2 1/2 hours to see the site but the tour guide forgot our passes to enter which took about 1/2 hour to recuperate and instead of asking us to be back at the bus later he kept the same time to meet up and just gave us 2 hrs instead (which was honestly BARELY enough). Most guided tours I have been in the guide has no problem talking and letting us take photos while we listen but our tour guide basically wanted our undivided attention without taking our site of him which made it hard for picture taking. In all reality we entered the area, heard two or three details and the guide told us "you can either go to the water area or come with me to listen to more things but I can't say if you have enough time to come back". So of course we wanted this tour to see and enjoy the views of the calcified water area not for the ruins nearby and about 80% of the tour stayed and only 2 people kept with the guide so it felt as if a tour guide was not really even needed. So overall... place is worth it, the guided part of the tour was not needed, the time allocated is enough but only if you don't stick to the guide. If you use it like we did (mostly for the transportation there) then is worth it. If you actually want to spend time at the location AND get a lot of information then this won't satisfy you.
Issues with guided tour of Pamukkale
Teresa_C, Sep 2019
It all started off well and we were collected at 06.45 as planned, the driver was really nice, and we were dropped off at a hotel near our destination and was told our English rep will pick us up in 1 hour. 2 and a half hours later the guide arrived. After trying to contact the rep twice we were met by an English speaking rep who I thought was quite rude. We got on the bus and off we went. We were told it was a 3 hour trip there and a 3 hour trip back to izmir so as it was a 12 hour day we were expecting 6 hours at Pamukkale but we only got to be there for 2 hours on site. We found the rep quite stroppy if you didn't do as you were told , rather than informing you of the risks and leaving it at that. Plus a collection point hadn't been established for us to returning to our hotel in Izmir. We have no issue with the driver who picked us up from our hotel and drove us part way back, as he was very accommodating and friendly. Pamukkale was an attractive, scenic and recommended location, although it would have been better had the pools actually had water in them like on the postcards and pictures. Disappointed by that.
Pammakule tour with guide Baris
Bimleshs, May 2019
The guide was good as was the timings. Local operator changed timing from 07.30 to 06.30 resulting in our missing breakfast and schedule tiring after a jet lagged travel from India. No coordination between Viator and Fez Travels. Shall never book on Viator.

The tour was amazing, be patient, as the drive is roughly 3 hours there and 4 back but the experience is breathtaking and wonderful. The guide was extremely friendly and knew his history far past what I expected. Thank you for a life time of a memory.

This trip was definitely worth the long drive from Izmir to Pamakkale, the ride was very comfortable .The tour guide Baris was very knowledgeable and extremely patient. As it goes with tour groups some people like spending longer at shopping stops! The food was really good, great selection. I thought that Hieropolis was included as part of the tour but when someone asked we were told that we could chose to spend time at the water or go off on our own to visit the ruins. This was not my understanding, we could have cut out the shopping and visited the site instead. Overall it was a fun filled day-the pools were however overcrowded as it was also school holidays.

I will start with the good thing that was the tour guide at Pamukkale. Other than that this was terrible. A driver that did not speak English picked me up at 640 am and then dropped me somewhere and signaled to just stay there and left. 15 minutes later after a couple of tours passed by where I was finally someone from this tour picked me up. We traveled a long time and were given only 1.5 hours at the actual place. However the worst part was the return which took more than 3 changes where they just kept dropping me in different places and I was picked up by different people. At one of the pickups I was actually driven with 2 other people that were heading to THE AIRPORT. I had to go to the airport, completely unacceptable. After 5 hours of being driven around in 3 different cars I was FINALLLY dropped in my hotel. Horrible do not book

Everything was as expected. Transport coordinated wonderfully. Tour guide - very knowledgeable and fun. Pamukkale - breath taking. The only non so pleasant part is the heat, but that is expected.

Great tour ! Pamukkale is one of natures beautiful works of art . To see it and walk on the trail above was amazing . The lunch buffet was also very good . Exploring the ancient site of Hierapolis was breathtaking and the guide was knowledgable , there is also a small museum you can visit for an extra small fee that I liked as well . Had a great time on this tour ! Be sure to wear good walking shoes.
Visite Pamukkale en petit groupe
Darina_G, Sep 2019
Merci
