Ata was our personal tour guide…despite expecting a small group, it was just me, my husband, Ata, and our amazing driver Mustafa! We had an a wonderful day. ATA’s depth of knowledge and ability to answer questions and share his love of his homeland was exceptional. He remarked that our visit to Ephesus was one of the 3 busiest days ever, but we felt that we were able to navigate well with him and definitely appreciated his vast understanding of the people and history. We could have done without the sales pitch after the carpet making demonstration, but understand the artisan quality and many purchase these gorgeous rugs to be shipped home. We enjoyed a nice lunch with Ata. Impressive to note that the requirement for guides in Turkey is a higher score on language proficiency exam than a college professor! Tourism in Turkey is a serious business and Ata was exceptional- gifted professional.
