Overview
San Diego’s La Jolla Ecological Reserve is one of the best spots on the West Coast to kayak and snorkel. On this two-activity tour—all gear provided—you and your crew will take turns between floating above water and snorkeling in it, hanging out with garibaldi, leopard sharks, rays, sea lions, and tons of other fascinating marine life.

The day that we did this excursion, the weather and waves did not cooperate. We could not kayak in the caves and the snorkeling was uneventful. What WAS fun were the two guides and that made the adventure worth it! kUDOS to the staff and thanks for the history and jokes along the way!! :-) :-)

Unforgettable experience with my teenage son and I. Guides were super friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Everyone had fun. Snorkeling is not for everyone. You need to be a decent swimmer and not afraid of some adventure.

Michael and Tyler were our guides and they did an amazing job! They made everyone feel very safe and they both had a great sense of humor. We saw so much sea life and it was our first time snorkeling here on the coast of California. So grateful to have these two as our guides. Just go!

We loved our kayak/snorkel trip on 6/19/23. The two guides, Mason and Lynn(?) were fabulous, going way past the call of duty by staying in the water to help us into the cave, and also coming out in the water to pull in our kayaks on return in the surf. They were lovely. The water was too cold to stay in long, but the whole outing was fun and adventurous.

Excellent time! Great guide Indy, and the rest of the shore team made getting in and out of kayak fun, and not so scary to worry about falling out! Indy was knowledgeable and great guide. We saw different fish and sea lions, great swim into the caves. Don’t miss doing this!!!
