What To Expect

After pickup at one of the arranged meeting points in Lake Garda, travel via comfortable coach with your guide to Venice, arriving at roughly 11am.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Venice is known as the Serenissima, the Queen of the Adriatic. Hop aboard a private boat with your guide and pass the city's top attractions, including St. Mark's Square and Cathedral, the Bridge of Sighs, the Campanile (bell tower), and the Rialto Bridge.

Explore the city on your own in the afternoon with some free time to spend at your leisure. Opt to take a gondola ride, the true symbol of Venice (additional expense), as a single gondolier rows you through the canals.

Afterward, a boat will pick you up at 5:30pm from St. Mark's Square to take you to the bus back to Lake Garda.

The day was really well organised and Thomas was great. It was a long day especially with us traveling from the North of the lake but definitely worth it.

Guide needs to be fired!

We had a group of 12 including 2 children. When we got to the gondola ride, my friend was going to get into the gondola and the guide said, “you must sit in the back, but I won’t tell you why.” How sad to have a guide trash talk to their guest and that be the most memorable thing.

Great trip. Very well organised, the coach turned up on time and the transfer to the water bus was very well done both arriving and departing. Alex, the tour guide, was brilliant. I felt very confident in his ability to keep the tour on track and he was very knowledgeable about Venice. My only slight suggestion for improvement would be making the guided walking tour at the start optional. Although I found it very interesting, I was rather eager to get off and explore Venice on my own. With that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would wholeheartedly recommend it.

2 languages in the same bus group is not good

Overall the tour was well organized, with connections, boat transfers and some basic information on Venice and history. What I didn't appreciate - the English and German languages jammed together. The guide had to repeat everything in 2 languages and it means we got twice less information. Not good.

Good trip but poor communication from the guide

The bus trip to Venice was fine, lots to see on the way and then the boat into Venice was interesting as well, we kept getting detached from the walking tour as it was busy and the guide was going fast and didn’t stop to make sure everyone was there. Also felt rushed from where we were left from the tour to get back for a gondola ride as well, we did the boat tour which was good as well. My big issue was the amount of the tour/announcements etc that were in German did make it feel like we (English speakers) were an afterthought at times, and on this holiday we had done a wine tour which was in both English and German but the amount of each felt a better pace and not 3-5 mins at a time where anything interesting has passed by which was what I felt was happening here.

Good apart from the end

Everything went well apart from the last part when we were meeting back at the port to get on the boat. We were there before the allocated time but no one was there. I was getting really nervous as my phone battery was about to die. There were other people too including three young girls who were really upset. Then a boat appeared about 15 mins later and the guy who was looking after us got off. He didn’t explain what had happened and then proceeded to tell me that he’d seen my husband with another woman during the day. I thought it was a very strange comment so I just ignored him. However Venice was fantastic.

Take a lot of cash (60pp for gondola ride and 35 for the island tour are extra on top of booking fee)

The guide was clear and explained a lot about the surroundings, even on the coach. The gondola ride offered on the bus was more expensive sive than you find online, plus you need to take cash to pay the guide on the bus, which wasn't clear before we left. We booked the island boat trip with him (which left us short of cash for the day) and then a gondola trip online on the coach ride up - at half the price - which meant we could use our card.

My husband was very ill and we canceled. Viator would not give us a refund. Bad customer service. We cancelled the remaining trips we booked.

Venice was interesting and worth a visit but I would prefer a smaller group. Hard to hear commentry on a boat with 2 groups and hard to keep up at times. However tour guide very knowledgeable and bus comfortable.
