What To Expect

This Amish country tour begins in Lancaster, close to a well-known music theater. After meeting your guide and group, your minibus adventure travels through backroad sites that are off the usual tourist trail, showcasing Amish homes, schools, and farms. Having transport taken care of eliminates wasted time waiting for local buses, and means you can seamlessly travel between rural locations.

The first stop is The Amish Farm and House—where you can go on a self-guided tour of a farmstead with a craft market and schoolhouse. For those who opt for the premium package, you can also get access to a farmhouse that dates back to 1805. Here, you can imagine what life was like in the 19th century, as you listen to stories about Amish customs, traditions, clothing, religion, and history. The tour stops at two farms in total and then finishes back at the meeting point.

Amish Country
Michele_M, Apr 2024
This tour is THE BEST way to see Amish country, hear about their community and way of living, as well as tour a house and a working farm. We HIGHLY recommend the premier package!
Good overview of Amish area
Allison_E, Apr 2024
My husband and I have been to this area before but this was our first time coming with our two girls (7 and 9 years old). The check-in, loading up experience was not the best. It seemed as though they overbooked for the day and we had to wait for our bus to arrive for the tour (even though we reserved our tickets weeks ago). Once the tour began, it was enjoyable. Our girls loved seeing the area and the stops we made. There were plenty of opportunities to pet animals along the way: puppies, horses, goats. We bought a few souvenirs and purchased AMAZING hot pretzels at one of the stops. The Amish house tour was okay. The farm was fun as it had a carriage to get in, scooters to ride, a school house and animals to play with. Overall, it was very good if you have not been to the area before or are visiting with first-timers.
Excellent

Had a great time. The driver and home host were both very knowledgeable and friendly. We learned a lot about the Amish culture. The walk around the home was very interesting. I enjoyed talking to the gentleman that does the wood carving. I loved his work. The animals were interesting. I love goats. My granddaughter has 5. Overall the tour was incredible and the cost was reasonable.

My friends and I took a bus tour with an excellent driver, but during the tour we were informed that several parts of the tour was closed due to Amish St. Michael's day...a day of fasting. I feel that we along with the others should have be informed before booking the tour. But yet, our driver was excellent.
