Interesting and Educational

Amazing and hard to imagine that Peru has ruins older than the pyramids in Egypt but they do. Several large pyramids (5 or 6) undergoing excavation at one stage or another. Jose our guide provided an excellent tour of the ruins, answered all our questions and was very informative. It’s a long day but well worth the time.

Great archeological site

Visiting Caral was a great experience. It's an important step in the development of civilization in the Americas. It's a long drive and day from Lima, but worth it. Our driver was flexible and adjusted the itinerary somewhat to take into account the interests of both people on the tour and we really appreciate it. Driver was prompt and great at navigating tough Lima traffic.

Historical Ruins, Good Lunch

I wouldn't say there was a most memorable part of the strip caral itself was very informative and very cool. After corral the tour continue to eat lunch by the ocean at a very nice restaurant delicious ceviche then there is one more small stop. My tour guide was very smart and informative plus had a great personality. My only complaint with the tour is it is all day and lunch is not included nor is breakfast, for breakfast you do stuff off at a gas station so you can get snacks and coffee.

The trip was excellent. Out guide Kathiya was very nice. The guide and the driver were very patient, gave us lot of time at both Caral and Barranca. They took us to a very nice restaurant and helped us to chose good dishes. At Caral, they explained us the place very well, they even helped us to convert currency. I highly recommend them.

It's amazing to learn that Caral is only 3% uncovered and still being researched/uncovered after nearly 30 years. There is much to learn from a culture that existed over 5,000 years ago.

What a great tour with Jose!! Since it's an early start, you have the option to grab breakfast at a cafe along the route. I enjoyed looking at the desert scenery during the ride. Caral is an amazing historic site worth seeing. Also, it was fun to visit Barranca (right on the coast with beautiful views) after Caral for a late lunch. I recommend trying one of the Tacu-Tato specials at the restaurant. Overall, I had such a fun day trip and would recommend it.

A sacred place that holds a spiritual energy

This trip is much more than Caral, the drive along the coast and into the foothills of the Andes, from desert to lush oasis, through towns and villages, you get a glimpse of real life outside of the big city, very interesting if not always ideal. And then the ruins themselves, a very sacred place indeed, where fire was a symbol of light and a representation of a Creator and offerings of sacrifice and music were preformed. For anyone on a spiritual journey it's a must (in my humble opinion). It is a long day trip into a hot windy desert, but so worth the time and effort. The time and effort put into this trip by our guide Jose was exceptional, a lovely pleasant man a with wealth of knowledge and wit. This trip is for the adventurous and I would highly recommend it.. once I booked on Viator, contact with the tour operater was made in minutes and it was very easy from there.
