What To Expect

Greet your guide at your Miraflores hotel to begin your two-wheeled exploration of Lima.

Climb aboard your modern bicycle and begin your experience, stopping at impressive war memorials and significant historical landmarks as your guide offers insight into Lima’s colorful past. First stop to revitalize will be the charming seaside neighborhood of Chorillos where it is possible to admire outstanding views of the Pacific Ocean before riding into the bohemian barrio of Barranco, an artistic enclave in which musicians, writers and artists reign supreme.

Admire enthralling examples of street art, colorful murals and cross through the famous Bridge of Sighs before following the curve of the coast towards Miraflores; gaze at the silken sands and perfect waves for surf of the Pacific Ocean as you arrive at Parque del Amor. Absorb the amorous atmosphere and appreciate constructions reminiscent of the work of Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi; stroll past romantically inspired statures before bidding your group farewell in this lovely location.

This bike tour is not considered to be strenuous or physically challenging. The riding is mostly flat and leisurely and therefore suitable for all levels of fitness

Important: You must present your passport and/or immigration card to your guide on the day of the tour. If you do not have these, you will be charged a tax of $USD10
Near public transportation
We don't pick up from the Callao airport, only from the center of Miraflores area.

Comfortable clothes and shoes appropriate for biking should be worn. Helmet will be supplied
Please also remember to bring sunscreen and a hat.
While we strongly recommend that all travellers are vaccinated against COVID-19 to reduce the risk of transmission and avoid putting undue strain on healthcare services, vaccinations are not a requirement to join an Intrepid Urban Adventures tour.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Our tour guide, Mariano, was excellent - he was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable! We loved seeing the different neighborhoods within the city of Lima. The amount of time was perfect. We traveled with our two teenagers and all four of us thoroughly enjoyed this tour!

Lima Bike Coastal Bike Tour

This is a great trip for individual adults or families with teens (not pre teens). Our guide Paula was excellent. You would think Lima is not a great cycling city but recent efforts have made this ride very friendly with designated bike paths hugging bluffs along the coast are very safe. The Baranco neighborhood is filled with graffiti/street art that I just loved. The coast is gorgeous, and we stopped for ice cream. I recommend the Sunday ride if possible but not required as the city closes a major road between the city center and Miraflores for only bike riders.

Tito was our guide and we got to see so much of the coastline views on this tour. Tito pointed out various art along the way, made enough stops to not feel to strenuous and point out sites with background information and helped us navigate some of the busier crossings safely. The protected bike lanes are a wonderful addition to the city that make it stress free to ride around. The hill at the end is was definitely tough but worth the view. The bikes we got were very comfortable and easy to ride. This tour is a really great way to cover some ground along the coast of Lima and get to know the coastal districts better.

A wonderful tour with the back up of a van . One of the the party was not confident of the down hill section , so the van was able to pick her up and then when we were on the flat resume her ride . Great commentary by guide and he took us through some interesting area . In the narrow busy sections the van was always behind us shielding the riders from the cars

Great tour to discover the city

The guide and his support staff were very knowledgeable and showed us parts of the city from a very interesting perspective. Safety is key to them and you can see and feel it in the induction and during the ride. It is not suitable for beginners that don't know how to ride a bike very well. Other than that the tour is a great option for anyone that wants to discover the city from a low-paced perspective.

We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the two neighborhoods that are not offered on the usual tours. Alex, our guide related all stops to the socio-economic, political history of Peru and its neighbors. We particularly enjoyed this discourse since we have traveled through Central and parts of South America and really enjoy learning about the "insider" politics when we travel. We took this tour the day we were going home from Lima after a two week bus around all of Peru. We were able to stretch and it was a pleasure to get on bicycles to get our bodies back in shape! Despite being in our 70's we love biking and do so all summer in Summit County Colorado....the mountain bikes were excellent quality, appropriate for the cobblestones, dirt, and pavement. Top knotch condition. Mostly downhill; some mild uphill which was not intense, and flats. Pace was slow; if you bike at all this trip would be safe and more than enjoyable! Helmets and yellow shirts provided. The two neighborhood streets were empty...the only traffic was in Miliflores near the Malecon over to Lovers Park. We took particular precautions to make this safe for all. When on a sidewalk passing a "con prermisso" to let folks know you are passing is advisable. There were 3 of us on this Adventure....including a 30's fellow from the British Isles....we all enjoyed this trip together. Alex recommended the Parkitera restaurant overlooking Kennedy Park (which is a must see with its cat residents) and we spent 2 hours post trip people watching, drinking Pisco Sours and enjoying our last few hours in Lima...before departing home. WE EMPHATICALLY RECOMMEND THIS TRIP! !Karen and Alan PariserSarasota, Florida

The tour was very nice. My wife and I who are not experienced cyclists enjoyed the tour and Tito's commentary on the sights and history of Lima. We had a very small group which was very nice as well, as we could customized the tour and stop and take photos when necessary. The tour was a great way to experience Lima.

Thanks to Tito who made this bike tour exceed beyond my expectations! I did this tour on a monday morning and I was the only one that booked that day and Tito the owner of Urban Bike Adventures really made me feel comfortable biking through Lima. The tour itself starts on top of a arid desert mountain car picks you up and you start downhill! A bit of mountain bike terrain in the beginning with breathtaking views of the beach and pacific ocean. Then once you get down from that area - Tito took me through the Barrancos district while explaining history of the areas we were in and Peru history overall. Finishing the tour along a beautiful bike ride along the coast by Miraflores and there are great and safe bike trails. Bike tour was about 3.30 hours long with a couple of water and snack breaks which were much needed Lima's summer heat. Truly a unique way to see a new part of Lima.

We had a great time. There could have been a little more variety of bike sizes as well as helmet sizes. And definitely a bottle of cold water for each person to start with, then we could have bought additional at our snack stop if needed. Really liked the route we took and the distance. It was a fun way to see parts of the city.

Very fun and interesting. Tito lead a great tour. I would say that you should be fairly in shape and confident on a bike, as there are a few bigger hills, but they were manageable and Tito was very patient. Great way to see a lot of Lima.

Fantastic short tour, mostly downhill riding, so easy for almost anyone. Our guide, Tito, was very well-informed about the history and cultural of Lima. He was also very careful and attentive with each client member of the group. Highly recommend this if you want to fill a half-day in Lima.

A great trip and a great leader. Very well run and entertaining. Tito was flexible with the pace of the ride. He also grew up in Lima and knew many interesting things about the city. Personally I would have enjoyed a slightly longer bike route. For most it probably was enough riding in the heat.

An excellent tour, great choice of routes, nice guide. Unfortunately, the tour did not drop us back at our hotel on conclusion: in fact we biked several km past our hotel and were then left to walk back. We showed some surprise and were told it was in the tour description. The walk back was enjoyable, great weather, but should not have come as a surprise.
