Can warmly recommend the small group wine tour. It is small groups indeed, we were 4 people divided on two cars and two guides. Instead of visiting the large vineyards we got to visit some smaller, and far, far less crowded vineyards. The restaurant stop for lunch was excellent and authentic, and the tile factory was a great stop too. The guides are great! We ended up drinking more than tasting wine, but what are you gonna do? 😃

A great day of eating, wine tasting and sightseeing!

What a wonderful day exploring Sesimbra, Arrábida Park and the surrounding areas. Our guide, Pedro, couldn’t have been more accommodating…he customized the tour to our preferences, introduced us to local boutique wineries and treated us to lunch at a delicious restaurant (Casa das Tortas) in Sao Lourenco. Thank you, Pedro for a great day!

Great trip! Our guide was very informative, he took the time to explain things to us and show us sites we would have had a difficult time seeing on our own. The winery and tile factory tours were amazing! We learned a lot and met other travelers with interesting stories.

Pako was a wonderful guide for our day. We really enjoyed stopping by the water and the amazing views along the drive. Wish there was a bit more wine at the actual tastings but both wineries were fun and the lunch was delicious ( not included in price). Tile factory was a cool addition. They seem pretty flexible if you had something different you want to do on the way.

This was a very nice tour. Our guide Andre (Andy) was very knowledgeable about the area, the food and the wine. We had a nice tour at Jose Maria da Fonseca winery followed by lunch and a second winery tour at Quinta do Piloto. Stopped at Castle Palmela for a great view of Sebutal. A really fun day and Andy was a great guide.

The tour gives you an opportunity to see areas outside of Lisbon and learn about them but it is not as advertised, in particular if you select a private tour. Pick up was late by a half hour without notification, what was booked as private was not, all stops were with others and our transport in and out Lisbon was with another couple, the itinerary advertises 3 wineries yet visited only two and no market visit. The restaurant they took all of the participants to was okay but expensive for the offerings. A market lunch would have been better suited to offer variety and to minimize wasting time. An enjoyable day but reflecting on it does not seem worth the price paid considering the differences from what was advertised for the “private” tour.

Dear Laura, seeing your review we are sad and disappointed. This tour offers the option of a private tour and shared group, where the traveler can choose the option they want. However, we are indignant about the delay in this tour. We informed the hotel reception twice that the guide would be late due to heavy traffic jam. This tour includes a mandatory visit to two wineries with a tasting of 9 wines. The third winery appears if one of the others is closed. Regarding the price of the restaurant, the price varies between 25 and 30 euros per person, the usual price for a restaurant of medium to high quality for a restaurant located in Azeitao, the wine capital.

Disappointing Experience

We had a bad experience with this tour company. They did not reach us to tell us that our guide was ill so we were picked up an hour and a half past the time on our ticket. We were cramped into the back of another family’s private tour car and after a thirty five minute drive we were handed off to another guide who was driving an old, dirty van. The guide did his best to improve our experience but it was not a positive day and I would not recommend this company.

Dear Laura, Unfortunately, during the day of your tour we had a last minute problem, one of our tour guides was ill, which meant we had to contact a guide outside our tour operator to carry out the tour in the best possible conditions. The van used was a 2019 van, not as old as mentioned in the comment. This was the best way we could to get around the situation and resolve this situation beyond our control. We apologize for what happened.

Antonio was the best guide and driver for our adventure. He arrived early and we left the city behind. The fish market was amazing, and the views around Setubol were very interesting as he knows so much about the area. We stopped at at tile producer to learn the trade and ordered a customed product to be shipped home. Next we then went on a very winding way up into the mountains and National Park. The lookout was nothing short of spectacular. Our next stop was for lunch and a wine tour at Jose Maria Da Fonseca. Thank you for such a fantastic day.

Very disappointing

This tour did not include several of the activities described and outlined in the details. This was billed as a wine and cheese tasting in the Alantejo region. The details indicated that it would include stops and tastings at two wineries plus a visit to Fonseca. In fact, while the Fonseca visit occurred there was only one other stop at a “winery/farm” where the guide indicated that a “Portugal wine testing” is essentially drinking wine from bottles provided. At the end of the day we essentially tasted only 2 wines all day (other than Fonseca). The cheese tasting took place at the one winery and amounted to a small plate of some tasteless crackers and one type of cheese that was neither identified or named. In addition the tour started and ended by being picked up in a too small vehicle for six people including fellow travellers who were large. The result being me squished into the middle seat between the door and the fellow guest with no access to a full seat or a seat belt. I will be requested a full or partial refund for this tour which, due to our travel itinerary, resulted in us not getting to taste Alantejo wines which was the primary reason for booking this tour.

As a professional in the sector, I recommend you, to inform yourself as a traveler about the place you intend to visit, before purchasing an excursion and writing a bad review without having first studied or even carefully read the voucher for the product you purchased. Our best seller, Arrabida Wine tour is an excursion on the Setubal peninsula, encompassing the metropolitan area of Lisbon. It is not part of the Alentejo, it is completely misinformed, so you can never demand that Alentejo wines be guaranteed in the cellars on the Península de Setúbal Wine region. Although both different areas sometimes have the same grape varieties. The entire program was strictly followed point by point. The cheese served was Azeitao cheese, weighing around 250 grams, considered one of the best cheeses in the world. At the acclaimed Jose Maria da Fonseca winery, there was a tasting of two wines before lunch and a visit to the cellars and gardens. In the afternoon wine cellar, 4 different wines and 2 different fortified " Moscatel wine " were served. Once again, we advise you to get better informed about our Portugal, specially, the different wine regions. If you really want an Alentejo wine tour, book a tour to Evora area, which is located in the Alentejo region.

Our guide Rui was great. Felt the tour was overpriced for what we saw/did on tour. Would not recommend this tour. Have done viator tours in Portugal and other countries that I would recommend. This one I would not. Very disappointed by cost vs experience

The tour company was nice and took us everywhere promised. The locations were good. It seemed like they were a start up company and did not have the knowledge or logistics to be the guide for this tour. When picked up at cruise terminal, we spent a good half hour driving thru Lisbon to pick up another group on are "private tour." After a good hour drive, when we arrived at the first Winery, another guide picked up the other group. When we were ready to return back to Lisbon, once again, the other group was put in our van. Luckily they were a great group, but this was not what I was expecting from a Viator .

However, we cannot understand why you only gave an evaluation of 3 stars. On the day of the excursion, the tour guide picked up your group at the port of Lisbon, the traffic jam it was chaotic and possibly the tour guide showed some nervousness, normal for a different day, but he fulfilled all the requirements to guarantee total customer satisfaction during the trip. excursion. On the same day of the tour, we carried out the transfer in the same vehicle, where one tour was Shared and the other was private, where we separated the groups, with the service and price paid being different. We do not see anything here that could imply and call into question our dissatisfaction with a dubious assessment in our optical as professionals in the tourist business sector.

I honestly can’t say enough good things about this experience. From the pickup, to the guide (PEDRO!!), to the wine, to the other guests…we had the best time! This tour will go down as one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. Wonderful food and wine and the tile factory visit was incredible! Pedro had us out and about for 11 hours and it was amazing!!

They picked up from Lisbon and took us to Arrábida. The ride was full of beautiful Landscapes. The guide was knowledgeable and interested in us having a great experience rather than just trying things. We also visited a tile factory. Overall we had a wonderful time. I totally recommend this tour!
