A Day To Remember

Our guide Miguel was the highlight as he was informative, thoughtful and friendly. We learned of the history of all the places we visited as well of Portuguese life. The trip exceeded our expectations and was reasonably priced.

It was a great experience. We did a private tour from Lisbon to Sintra. We made a few stops and Pedro was very knowledgeable. He literally explained the Portuguese history. I would highly recommend to do this tour and hope you get Pedro. He made every penny worth it.

This was a perfect last day in Portugal for our family. Sonia and her team are amazing tour guides - knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and excellent with children! The palace was stunning - the walk to it maybe the most memorable part with gorgeous gardens. We loved visiting two beaches (the kids could play!) and Sonia made lunch reservations and it was possibly our favorite meal our entire stay. I would highly recommend this tour and the tour guides! Thank you Sonia!

Miguel and Pedro were excellent tour hosts! It was extremely convenient to have them pick us up from our hotel, starting the day bright and early. From our hotel, we ventured to beautiful Cascais, Cabo da Roca, and the town of Sintra, all the while getting a full lesson on the histories of each town. They were both exceptionally knowledgeable and helped us to understand more about Portugal and each town. Finally, we had a complete tour of Pena Palace by Pedro, who took his time to point out many, many details about the castle, enhancing its already natural beauty. We returned home after a full and adventurous day, glad that we took this tour. Thank you to Miguel and Pedro for your accommodation, kindness, knowledge and an excellent experience!

Pedro our guide had a wealth of historical knowledge and pointed out so many details at the Pena palace in Sintra. He went out of his way and accommodated a special request to stop at a small coastal village for us that wasn’t part of our day trip. We really enjoyed this tour with him.

Carlos was incredibly attentive to our walking issues. His tour was beyond thorough and we had such a wonderful time with him we wanted to take him home! Instead, we took him to lunch as part of out thanks. We recommend him to everyone!

Ugh don’t waste your time & money

First I will start with we are avid travelers and normally let most issues that not bother us and never leave negative reviews however this is a different story and we felt needed to be told so others could use to determine whether they should attend this or not. To begin our original tour was cancelled at the very last minute by the tour company I GO PORTUGAL stating something happened with the car and that we would need to go another day. That should have been my first clue to just forget about it and not go at all. We had to jump throw a bunch of hoops and rebook for another day and the morning we were picked up for the tour there was not even an apology for cancelling on us at the last minute or a thank you for giving us another chance. The driver/tour guide did arrive on time for scheduled pickup. First stop was the town of Cascais, umm I don’t know why we even stopped here there’s a beach a small town center but just something to fill 10 hours of time. Next stop Cabo de Roca, yes this is the most western spot of Europe & it was nice photo spot & grab a coffee. Next stop was Sintra, the Peña Palace in Sintra is a bummer. Take the bus yourself to Sintra and explore the town as it’s very quaint & cute & we did find a very excellent eatery in the 1 1/2 hour we were afforded to look around. Other than that a complete waste of my day. Now onto the guide Carlos, oh boy, he is quite full of himself and gives nonstop opinions on things he has absolutely no clue on. As well as he does not show you where he will be picking you up, says he will send you a WhatsApp location then stated the service is sketchy up there. Well good luck finding your way back to the van using the map he sends you at the last minute, as I had to send him a message to even receive a location of where he was picking the group up. It was quite a brutal 10 hours hearing about how he can drink an entire bottle of tequila without throwing up & his entire pitiful life story. We almost left the tour at the first stop and paid for a ride back to Lisbon but my spouse asked me to endure for a bit. We both ended up regretting and wishing we had just left. Unless you want to absolutely waste your holiday time & money do not go on this tour and I hope you do not get Carlos as your guide.

Dear Sir Beforte starting to respond to your review, let me just locate your animosity against someone that up untill your review had just great reviews, maybe if you didnt come to the tour with a massive hungover he would not talk to you about drinking. About the cancellation just to give you a small inside on the situation of posponing the tour due to a car problem, machines break I dont know if you are aware of that, but yes they do breaK i have contacted you on 1 days before the tour with a solution for you, which was to do the tour on a different day as we couldnt do it on the date schedule due to several situations with our fleet and we have asked you to change the date for not cancelling your tour. Anyway I will not take your words as a honest review mainly because you were asked several times if you were enjoying and your answer was always yes we are enjoying and that the day was going really well. For me you have come to this tour already with one idea to slag our company off and our guides mainly due to the fact that we had to change the date of the tour, this I can say mainly because on your review you say that we havent excused us for being cancelling the tour, please check the messages we have exchanged with your wife below, its all about entitlment that you feel that you have and you dont haveout of more than 1 thousand reviews and more than 10 years on this bussiness I have never seen mistreating a guide and a human person as you have done on your review and one thing Sir I will not accept your words as they are offensive for the hard work of Carlos that did his best to accomodate you and your wife bad attitude towards everybody. With regards to the tour we were told off by the guards at the palace because your wife was always standing behind and not joining the group for explanations even the rest of the group mentinoned to Carlos that you guys were not joining the rest of the group and had kind of a bad attitude, also every question that your wife did Carlos responded, he even offer to get you guys waters as you were looking a bit rough, you were asked to seat at the front which you guys refused, he gave you plenty of time in Cascais almos 1hour 30 minutes, for the all group to go to the toillet and enjoy the village of Cascais, by what I see on this day there is nothing wrong with Carlos and the tour, I could use your words to evolve but the way this review is done I mean is nothing to improve from your words as they are just negative without any really feedback that would help us to evolve. Another thing the brutal 10 hours tour how can this be possiblke if we started at 08:00am and at 17:00pm you were at your place, it seem e4xaqgerating is something that you like to do on this 9 hours you had 1 hour 45 minutes by your selfs and 1.30 minutes in Cascais so I think your 10 hours are a bit off the chart with regards of listening Carlos for 10 hours and by this I kind of rest this case and by this I can see that this review as nothing to do with the tour but an attack to a person that you dindt liked. With regards to the tour we did the tour that we normally do to everybody on which we get amazing reviews and by the way just for not be forgotten there were another 6 persons on the tour that really enjoyed the day, so as you by your words on the day, but it seams that being honest and let us know that you were not enjoying was not on your plans to us. If you look at your review you almost left in Cascais I mean thats 30 minutes in to the tour, with no apparently reasons to that, so again I do not take your review as a serious one mainly because of your attitude towards you guide and not towards the tour. Sintra is a beautiful town. The places of interest are well worth visiting, especially the fantastic Pena Palace with its fascinating history, told by our friendly and knowledgeable guide and driver Pedro. My wife and I had an enjoyable time. Hotel pickup and drop off was a bonus. It made the trip more leisurely and hassle free.

Nunu, our guide, is the best! I thought that we were waiting for a bus with a lot of people and then this car shows up instead and we were so happy! A private tour! We were with Nunu all day throughout the beautiful countryside and Sintra. He knew so much about the history of Sintra and took fantastic photos! After we skipped the line and saw the palace, we went to the beachside town of Cascais and ate (at a place recommended by Nunu) more seafood than we have ever consumed in our lives. A really memorable experience! Thank you!

The trip was excellent overall. Pedro was our tour guide. His historiical knowledge of everywhere was incredible. He ensured that we were comfortable at all times and the perfect host. Sintra is beautiful. There were many shops and restaurants. Cascais was awesome as well. I would higly recommend this tour.

Nunu our driver was wonderful! He took us wherever we wanted to go. We went to Cabo da Roca to the western most part of mainland Europe and received a certificate which we will frame. We also walked the streets of beautiful Cascais and enjoyed a great traditional Portuguese lunch. We skipped the Pena Palace so we could explore elsewhere. Would highly recommend this outing!
