What To Expect

Meet your guide and group at a central meeting point in Lisbon and settle in for the ride to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed landscape of Sintra.

Your first stop is Pena National Palace, a glorious confection of color perched on the summit of Sintra mountain, for a guided tour of the building and grounds. Then, head to the mystical Quinta da Regaleira where you can explore the grounds and mansion on your own.

In the historic center of Sintra, explore independently and pick up lunch (own expense), and then reconvene with your guide for the journey to Cabo da Roca, a dramatic collection of cliffs that signify Europe’s westernmost point.

Your tour ends back at the original departure point.

From start to finish a fantastic day trip! Safety and enjoyment were the primary concerns of our tour guide Andre Marinho. With all safety precautions taken like wearing masks in our van with hand sanitizer near every guest. Andre was full of knowledge and took us all through the journey. The views and sites were terrific. We were given free time at every stop which is why we picked this one. We highly recommend Portuguese For a Day Trip tours and especially Andre! Portugal is beautiful and this day trip enhanced those thoughts!

Really appreciated the “skip the line” tickets! So nice to be among the first into the palace! Our guide Andre was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the history of both Pena Palace and Quinta Regalaria! He also shared history of the area. A quick trip to the most westerly point of Europe was an unexpected surprise!

Andre was a terrific guide! He was so knowledgeable and easy to understand in English. The day just flew by because it was well planned. He was flexible, and reaourceful. when we ran into trouble due to a bus delivering a group late at the Peña Palace, he adjusted things so we could complete the tour. He gave great recommendations for what to see and do in Lisbon.

Andre was so great! He made our day very special. He first took our small group of 8 tourists in his comfortable van for 9 people to Pena castle. We arrived there early and beat the crowd, which was great. Then we visited beautiful Quinta de Regaleira (make sure you save time to see the gardens and the castle, you can miss the well- long lines there) and had unforgettable lunch at a small restaurant recommended by Andre. We loved the tour and this tour guide a lot! Request him and you will not regret.

"Portugese for the Day Tours" provided us with the best day tour we had while in Portugal! Our small group of 8 people met Andre at the Estatua Equestre de Domjoaol at 7:30am to travel in his comfortable van to Pena Palace. We arrived early and were able to avoid the crowds! The whole day was extremely well organized and Andre provided us with an interesting, informative and stress free day. We were given ideas on how to get the most out of our visit to Regaleira and Andre reserved tables for us in Sintra for lunch, so we could have more time to browse in the town after. On the way back to Lisbon from Cabo da Roca, Andre was happy to provide us with helpful tips on Portugal. This tour provided us with the genuine and personable information we were looking for and we enjoyed every moment!!

Felipa has amazing people skills and is a great local tour guide who teaches you a lot about Portugal, and what you’re seeing. I really enjoyed our day with her and she was very easy to talk to and kind. I did feel like some of the beautiful landmarks were very slightly rushed but overall 10/10 and happy with this tour.

Our Sintra tour was amazing. Our guide was Andre, who has a great energy, you can tell he loves what he does. It was very well organized, he recommended an amazing tapas restaurant for lunch, and we had a very nice time! I highly recommend taking this tour. Doing Sintra without a tour seems like a difficult task, especially with all those hills you'd have to climb!

Our tour guide Felipa really made the whole experience a 5 star. She was so knowledgeable about all the highlights and even every other random question asked, while laughing and making everyone feel comfortable. The tour itself was quite impressive. It was nice to go with a small group so you didn’t have to wait for a lot of people. It was a great way to see a lot in one day. No one stop was dragged out nor did it feel rushed. I would absolutely recommend this tour. It was beautiful.
