What To Expect

Meet your driver and group at a central Liverpool location, and hop aboard your coach to start the journey north out of the city. After a quick restroom stop, your first destination is the Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Neolithic monument that sits at the Lake District’s northern end. Stop for photos, then continue to Grasmere where the village’s famed gingerbread awaits.

In the afternoon, you’ll wind your way up among the fells on a scenic route through Little Langdale Valley, stopping at Blea Tarn for a walk. After a good dose of fresh air amid a backdrop of ruggedly beautiful hills, you’ll continue by coach through Great Langdale to the town of Ambleside. Enjoy roughly an hour here at leisure, perhaps browsing the shops or visiting traditional pubs and tea rooms, before the journey back south.

Your day trip then ends with a drop-off back at the start point in central Liverpool.

Lovely views, nice villages, good driver who took us on an off-road park and gave us the opportunity to walk for about 20-25 minutes. Mountain views are spectacular.

Jerry was the most memorable part because he makes the tour very fun, he also has good jokes and is very positive on everything, he has many songs and stories on file so he can add lots of content to the high amount of info that he can tell you about spots in the tour. The tour is great and Jerry is a great guide!

What a fabulous day we had yesterday. Booked through a 3rd party, however from now on I will book directly with you. My sister and I went on your Lake District adventure tour. From start to finish our tour guide, Shelly, was friendly, informative, funny, professional and a genuine lovely person. We loved all her stories about the Pendal Witches, Beatrix Potter and Sarah Nelson. We jumped on a boat tour, strolled through Ambleside, stopped at Blea Tarn and had the option to either walk down or come down on the bus with Shelly. Onto Grassmere with a final stop at Castlerigg stone circle....smell that fresh air, take in your surroundings and just breathe. You won't be disappointed.

Ruined my bday plans

The tour was cancelled the at the last minute when we had already arrived in Liverpool from London. It was my bday weekend and I was looking forward to going to Lake District I am very very upset and expect a refund and an apology.

An apology is always offered at the time of notification so we are please to say that we fulfilled that obligation even though we could not provide the tour. Clear instructions on how to obtain your refund (which is held by Viator and not the tour provider) were also given. We couldn’t be happier with our trip that we did together to the lakes district with Gerry as our tour guide/driver. Everything was even better than expected and the kids loved being a part of this adventure too. Gerry was entertaining and extremely knowledgeable and also importantly a really capable and impressive driver. Many highlights of the day including picture postcard scenery, the gingerbread shop, learning the stories and history of the area including the Beatrix potter tales… and a really special mountain walk. It was a lot of riding, but the quaint towns and beautiful countryside made it a really chill and pleasant day! The bus was small and our group was not huge, which made it very manageable to get a snack and see the little towns.

An introduction to what the Lake District has to offer

This was the best tour! Frank was a fantastic guide. He’s so funny and knowledgeable! The day was a highlight of our trip to Liverpool. We’d like to return to the Lake District for a full vacation next. I immediately tried to squeeze in one more tour with this company before we have to go home and was disappointed to see that the Northern Wales tour is sold out. I should have acted faster!

A Fun Excursion!

The Lake District was fantastic. The scenery was amazing. I enjoyed stopping in the villages particularly Grasmere. I had to try the gingerbread and I’m glad I did. Highly recommended. Our driver and tour guide was Gerry and he made the experience fun. I felt safe with him driving. Overall my Lake District tour experience was very positive!

A somewhat arduous journey to a fabled locale

This extensive day trip was memorable for the driver Mark and his insights into the area. The unusually hot weather however made an “off road” tour deep into the fells more punishing than pleasurable. The tour ought to have shortened this part and spent more time on the shores of Lake Windermere…or any time as we only saw briefly through the van windows the lake as we headed back to Liverpool! Surely that Lake is one of the highlights of the tour rather than something to be missed. Other parts earlier on were more appreciated as was the factual background provided.

The journey up to Blea Tarn in the Langdales is often referred to as one of the highlights of our tour. To cut that our due to the weather would be a travesty. We appreciate that everyone has different views on the subject but we have listened to our customers and they like the mountains in favour of sitting next to a lake.
